About

"Creating art keeps me sane."

I’m a self- taught artist who's worked in many different mediums: water colors, oil and acrylic paints, pastels, pen & ink, pencil drawings and paper. Paint and paper have been the focus of most my artistic career. I love the endless creative possibilities when I combine these two mediums.
Several years ago I started working with recycled materials for my first art show. The creative process in working with these materials and assembling these pieces comes very naturally to me.
My inspiration comes from all around me but I think I'm mostly influenced by the materials I use. Textures, colors or some rusty metal can spur all kinds of creative ideas. Creating art on a daily basis helps to keep me sane. My goal as an artist is to always keep moving forward, trying different techniques and working with a variety of mediums. Only pieces I truly love make their way to the public eye.
Art has been at the core of my life from a very early age and I feel truly blessed to have it as a part of my everyday life!

Shipping
SHIPPING (Domestic USA)

Shipping is a guessing game for me so please convo me before purchasing and I will be happy to recalculate the shipping cost for you. This is also helpful if you are purchasing multiple pieces, some items may be able to ship together and that can save on shipping costs. Pieces are packed in foam/bubble wrap, cardboard, newspaper to help ensure their safe arrival to you.
Please note ~Packing materials add weight and dimensions to the pieces which does add to shipping costs.

ART ASSEMBLAGE PIECES

These pieces are very special to me and I would hate to see something happen to them once they leave my home. They look and feel sturdy but they can be quite fragile. With all the wood/metal I use, a lot of them are very heavy. I usually ship ***Priority Mail with insurance and tracking (unless otherwise specified or we have agreed to a different method of shipping) to minimize the time they spend bouncing around on a truck from my home to yours. Pieces are packed to arrive safely and in one piece to their destination.

I'm always happy to refund the difference on shipping if I have misquoted ($1.00+). If the piece is large or quite heavy, I will ship UPS.

I do not guarantee arrival by any date, once I hand a shipment off to USPS (or any other carrier), it is in their hands and on their schedule. Please plan ahead. Any additional costs/fees occurred due to an incorrect shipping address are the responsibility of the buyer. If the goods shipped are lost or stolen due to incorrect delivery address, no refund for the goods/shipping will be refunded to the buyer.

I'm happy to ship international, with the increase in postal rates recently I would like to get you the best rate so please contact me for shipping costs.

Any other shipping companies used/methods or expedited shipping costs will be the financial responsibility of the buyer. Any additional costs such as insurance, taxes, duties and customs fees are the buyer's responsibility.

Since my pieces need a lot of protective wrap/packing, I forgo the extra wrapping paper to make them look pretty. I reuse bubble wrap, newspaper and boxes.

If this is a gift, please make a note of it in the "Note for Seller" with the recipient's address and if you would me to include a personal note. Because of the bulkiness of my pieces, they can not be gift wrapped.

I work in a smoke and pet free environment.

HOLIDAY INFORMATION

If your purchase is a gift, I'm always happy to include a personal note with it. (Because of the bulkiness of my pieces, unfortunately, they can not be gift wrapped). If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

***I do not guarantee arrival on any date, Please see my shipping information above.*** Please note my refund policy above.

CARE and GENERAL INFORMATION

ART ASSEMBLAGE PIECES are fragile and may have sharp or bendable parts-take care when handling. Please handle the piece by the wood panel/box and not by anything attached to the sides. If traveling or mailing them, pack them securely so they don't move around. Some pieces are heavy. Each has a ring hanger(s) on the back and should be hung using a stud in the wall. To preserve bright colors and the staying power of adhesives, avoid hanging in direct sunlight. Adhesives used may have a lingering odor when first made~it will eventually dissipate. My pieces are indoor use only. I do not recommend hanging these pieces in kitchens or bathrooms.

NOT A TOY-Many of my pieces are brightly colored and appear to be made for children and can be fun to display or hang in a child's room. Many of my items contain small, sharp parts (choking hazard) and rusty metal and should not be hung or displayed above or around cribs/beds and kept out of reach from small children. Please use your discretion if you purchase a piece to be hung or displayed in a child's room.

CLEANING

ART ASSEMBLAGE PIECES-Dust~I find that using a soft brush like a makeup brush works well to get the dust off the piece(s). I find when using dusters and cloths that the fibers can get caught on certain materials and leave fibers behind. You can also use a hair dryer on a low, cool setting.

CUSTOM ORDERS - 2016- I'm taking a break from my assemblage pieces and I'm not accepting custom orders at this time.

Please contact me if you’re interested in a custom piece. I will accept requests that I feel are in my range as an artist.

To stay true to myself as an artist, I will not duplicate or replicate any previously made piece. The original idea of a piece is very exciting for me and I like the idea that all of my art pieces are original and not “cookie cutter” art.

When considering a custom piece, please keep in mind that I have to find the materials to make a piece. My materials really inspire my work, so sometimes the “hunt” for materials can take weeks or months. (The time spent looking for materials is "in addition to" the completion times explained in the following paragraph).

Custom orders take extra time and cannot be rushed. If you would like a custom piece for a special date/holiday, please plan ahead. I have a minimum 8 week completion time for orders placed January through August. Orders placed during the months of September through December have a minimum 12 week completion time. I require that a "Custom Order Contract" is completed by the buyer and myself. This is to protect both parties. There is a non-refundable deposit (50%) due at the beginning of the process and additional costs may apply for any reworking of a piece. Shipping costs are not included in the price of the piece.

Please note, due to a heavy workload there are certain times of year when I’m unable to take custom orders, I will do my best to accommodate your requests.

Thank you.

Please contact me if you're interested in a custom piece, www.redheadhardwick [!at] gmail.com or more info is available on my website, http://jen-hardwick.com

Thank you.
