Sketching out some new characters
Every day's a good day when you paint.
When I was in high school, I wanted nothing more than to be a muppeteer. I studied every book I could find, drew pictures, built several small puppets. Somewhere along the line thogh I realized that I enjoyed designing and making things more than I enjoyed performing. So I did the only sensible thing, and got a degree in printmaking.
The desire to tell stories with my artwork has remained a constant inspiration for me, and has led me to Focus on storytelling, childhood memories and a sense of adventure. These days I work mostly in pencil and paint instead of ink and presses, and while I’ll probably never get to perform with Kermit, at least I can take comfort in the fact that my house is a lot like the Happiness Hotel…
Full of talking rats.
