Hi, Sarrah here! Welcome to Red Nebula Studios, a small business run by myself and my husband since 2009. I'm an eclectic artist and enjoy making prints, buttons, bookmarks, resin-cast sculptures, vinyl decal designs, and more, along with a number of digital downloads you can get from our other shop ( https://rednebuladigital.etsy.com ). I'm also a sculptor and maskmaker, so you'll find a lot of pieces in this shop to help you create your own creature costumes, such as masks, claws, horns, and fangs, all created from my own original clay sculptures and cast in durable urethane resin.

I looked forward to Halloween every year while growing up, and often worked with my mother to decide on a more unique costume than those usually found in stores. I made my first costume entirely on my own when I was 13, a velociraptor which included a mask with a moving jaw. In the years that followed, I created costumes for myself off and on, and usually had something new to wear for Halloween each year.

Enter the rise of comic conventions and the popularity of cosplay. While my dinosaur so many years ago is technically my first cosplay, I had no idea what the word meant - if it was even a word back then! I found myself suddenly in a wonderful world where costuming didn't have to be confined to one time of year, nor was it an activity "just for kids". I found myself fascinated by a character in a video game, Garrus Vakarian, and knew I had to bring him to life.

Like a flame rekindled, my love of costuming returned in full force. It's always been about creating creatures for me, whether terrifying monsters, fantasy beasts, or strange alien species. Creating masks is my specialty, but I hope to help inspire creativity in others too... so you'll find some finished products here, but mostly components you can use to bring your own creations to life! I make horns, claws, and mask blanks, primarily out of cast resin, but sometimes using other materials as well. Each listing has full details about how it was made and what materials were used.

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy making it!

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:

Please contact me within 1 week of receiving your purchase if you are dissatisfied with your purchase or if it arrives damaged.

I will honor refund requests on items you decide you don't want, but only upon return of the item. Shipping is the buyer's responsibility and will be subtracted from your refund.

However, if your item arrives damaged, please send me a photograph of the condition of the item and the box. I can use this to claim on the postal insurance for the item. In the case of a damaged item, you do not need to ship the item back to me in order to receive a refund. If you receive a damaged item which is not one-of-a-kind, I can also replace the item for you.

I accept payment via PayPal and via credit card through Etsy.
Shipping
Many items in this store are cast when ordered and take up to 2 weeks to be shipped, depending on my current workload, while finished costume pieces and items like art prints, buttons, etc. are in stock and will ship within a couple business days. Each listing will say the length of time it takes for that item to be ready to ship. All shipments include a tracking number.

When you purchase a made-to-order item or items that takes longer than two days to ship, I will send a message via Etsy to let you know when your order will be shipped.

- Domestic Orders (within the United States) -

Items will ship via USPS First Class or USPS Ground by default, depending on the weight of the package. Orders over $35 within the U.S. qualify for free shipping, which will be one of these two options. Your order will typically arrive at its destination between 2-10 days of being shipped.

You also have the option to upgrade to USPS Priority shipping at checkout, which typically arrives in 1-4 business days.

- Canadian Orders -

Shipping is available to Canada via USPS First Class International by default, or you have the option to upgrade to USPS Priority International at checkout. Please note that I will only ship one-of-a-kind items with shipping options that include insurance and tracking, which can be somewhat expensive. International orders may take as long as 6-8 weeks to arrive, please be patient.

Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional import costs will be prior to buying.

It is illegal to falsify customs information (such as marking the item as a gift or a lower price to avoid customs fees). I will NOT do so, so please do not ask.

- International Orders -

We do not offer international shipping outside of the U.S. and Canada at this time. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. If you choose to use a forwarding company for international shipments, all arrangements are between you and them. We are only responsible for ensuring our product is delivered to the address given to us on the order.

- Incorrect Shipment Address / Return to Sender Packages -

Please make sure to double-check your shipping address before placing an order! The buyer is responsible for providing a correct shipping address.

If a buyer enters an incorrect address and the package is subsequently returned to us, we will refund the order minus the shipping cost and the buyer is free to purchase again (after updating their address). If the package is lost due to an incorrect address, we cannot provide a refund.

This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services through Etsy.com or its related sites and services.

Do you do commissions or custom work?

I'm sorry, but my schedule doesn't allow time for me to take commissions or custom projects. I am happy to take suggestions, but I cannot guarantee what you're looking for is something I will end up making.

When will my order ship?

Each listing displays the date range when I expect to ship your item: ready-to-ship or made-to-order. All shipments include a tracking number.

Ready-to-ship items (decals, mesh fabric, prints, etc.) ship within 3 business days*. In most cases, I ship them the next business day*.

Made-to-order items include all unpainted blank resin pieces, such as masks, claws, etc. When you place an order, they are added to my production queue in the order they're received. The turnaround time is 1-2 weeks. I will also send you a message via Etsy within 1 business day* to let you know the exact date I intend to ship your order. Please double-check your messages if you're checking on the status of an order!

*Mon-Sat, not including USPS postal holidays.

Can I attach horns (or other items) with spirit gum?

My cast resin horns, fangs, and other such items are meant as embellishments for props or masks, and weren't made with the intention to be attached directly to skin as a prosthetic. It may be possible to apply some of the lighter pieces to the skin with spirit gum, but I have not tried this and can't guarantee the results.

What kind of paints and glues work well with your blank masks and props?

Why are only some cast items available in black?

To be able to cast in black, I need to make a special kind of mold that allows me to cast it in a pressure pot. Unfortunately, not every piece is able to be turned into this kind of mold.

Certain pieces that I cast using a rotocasting technique (some horns, the dragon wall mount, seashells, and original-style masks) cannot be cast in black at this time.

Can you cast resin pieces in other colors?

All of our cast resin pieces are available in white, and certain pieces are now available in black. I don't have the setup to do other colors at this time.

What's the difference between a raw cast and a cleaned-up cast?

A raw cast is straight out of the mold with minimal cleanup. There will be some flashing and the edges may be sharp. A raw cast will require you to do some sanding and cleanup before use. You can also choose the cleaned-up option, where we take care of removing all of the flashing and sanding the edges clean and smooth.

Will you attach a strap to a mask blank for me?

It's best to paint your mask prior to attaching the strap, so I don't offer them with the straps already installed. The strap just gets in the way during the painting process, especially priming.
