This is the perfect shape but VERY difficult to put blocking pins into. Might not want to make anything else with this kind of wood.

About

Reuse and Transform!

I have been a lover and collector of vintage and found objects since I was a teenager...that's a long time....trust me (-: When I was young I was just attracted to old oddball things naturally...they were beautiful to me. But now that I'm older I have a better understanding of why they were so important to me...I value the past and how it has shaped my life. It bothers me that we in present day will sometimes take that relationship with the past for granted and so quickly replace old things with newer things that quite frankly are cheaply made and fleeting...they don't have much long lasting substance to them. And by thoughtlessly replacing them we treat our resources as if there is a never ending supply and disregard how they are obtained. I want to preserve the old things and treat them as if they matter...because they do. This is one of my reasons for becoming a hat-maker...a craft involving very old, traditional techniques and equipment...and why recently most of my creations have been made with recycled and vintage materials...it's my way of conserving precious resources and being mindful of where and how these things were obtained.

I opened Redo Bijoux because I want to share my love for vintage and oddball knick knacks...and I hope to inspire people to reuse, recycle and respect things from the past and to transform these treasures into yet another beautiful thing.

Thanks for visiting my shop!

Shipping
For shipping within the US: I send all orders over $10.00 by Priority Mail through USPS and offer insurance for items over $50 (since Priority Mail already covers up to $50) and the cost of the insurance is included in your shipping fee. Small, lightweight orders under $10.00 will go First Class with tracking otherwise your shipping charge will cost more than your actual item but I will upgrade to Priority Mail for those who want to pay for it.

For shipping outside of the US: I send orders by First Class with tracking via USPS as International Priority Mail is quite expensive...though I will upgrade for those who wish to pay for Priority Mail...about $40 - $60 depending on the item and where it is going.

I have estimated my shipping charges as best I can prior to actually going to the Post Office. If the shipping fee ends up being less than what you paid I will refund the difference minus $3.00 (which covers shipping supplies and travel).

A one of a kind vintage or recycled item that is ready to go at the time I list it in my shop will ship within 3 business days after receiving your payment. One of my handmade items made especially for you will generally take 2-3 weeks to be made and shipped...unless a different time is specified in the listing or we make other arrangements. I offer combined shipping unless I feel an item will be damaged if packed with other things. I offer postal insurance on items priced over $50 (since Priority Mail already covers up to $50) and the cost of that is included in your shipping charge
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be happy with your purchase and will accept refunds for some items but I need you to contact me within 3 days after receiving your item to arrange the return. I sell the vintage and recycled items in my shop with the intention that they will be used as millinery and crafting supplies...I do not offer them as collectible pieces nor do I claim to be an expert in their historical background. I ask that you keep in mind that these are all old and used items and will have wear and tear issues...that is part of their charm. If you find that you are not happy with the purchase I will refund your payment minus the cost of the original shipping charge to send it to you. On custom orders where I create an item specifically for you the refund will be the cost of the item minus 20% to cover some cost of materials for a design I otherwise would not have made. Do feel free to ask me tons of questions BEFORE you place your order to help prevent the need for a return though...thanks so much.
