5 out of 5 starsFABULOUS! I can't believe I waited this long for a cutting board. I had an order with WS for six months and got so frustrated I looked on Etsy and found this really cool burlwood board for a bargain. It arrived in two days and I was amazed at how gorgeous it looked in person and how great it is to use. I have very sharp knives (Ken Onion by Shun and they'll cut your finger, arm and torso off if not careful!) and yet, no noticeable scarring to the board. I forgot to cancel the WS order and the one had ordered six months ago finally arrived. What amazes me is I paid over $100 more for the WS board, and it doesn't even compare to this one by Red Onion Woodworks! The WS board has been bleeding out a reddish dye (gack!). Needless to say, the WS board is being returned, keeping the Red Onion Woodworks. GREAT JOB!

Beautiful + Functional. Red Onion Woodworks cutting boards make universally perfect gifts.
Red Onion Woodworks is a very small business owned and operated by me, Camille Kaplan, in Corvallis, Oregon. I focus on organically designed wooden kitchen tools, placing a strong emphasis on creating products that are naturally beautiful as well as healthy and environmentally sustainable.
Red Onion Woodworks cutting and serving boards are made exclusively out of lumber salvaged from industrial logging operations or backyards. This material sourcing method produces products that are truly one of a kind.

Shop policies
Please read descriptions throughly and look at each picture before purchasing an item because some of my boards have cracks, knots, or other character features, which I try to be very clear about.
Accepted payment methods
Returns and exchanges
In the unlikely event that an item is damaged or defective in some way, contact me, and we'll work something out (refund or replacement).
Payment
If for some reason you want to cancel your order after paying for it, convo me, and if I haven't shipped it yet, I will refund you money. Sometimes I ship the same day as the order, so I can't guarantee that it won't be past the point of no return.
Shipping
Sadly, I'm not shipping internationally at this time. Making, photographing, and uploading each item individually takes a huge amount of time as is. There are just not enough hours in the day to check shipping prices for separate boards potentially going to any number of countries. I also am uncomfortable with the thought of shipping costs being half or more than half the price of the board itself. I would encourage any potential international customers to explore the woodworking community in your own areas.

Cutting Board Care
With normal household use, Red Onion cutting boards will show scratches and wear. I highly recommend that, upon receiving your board, you choose one side for cutting and save your preferred side for serving.
Never leave your cutting board submerged in water. For light-duty cutting, simply wipe the board with a damp cloth. After chopping onions, meat, or anything else messy, wash with soap and hot water. A stiff-bristle brush may help clean natural edges. Store your board in a dry location.
If the cutting board begins to dull, brush it with a generous coat of mineral oil, let the oil soak in, and then wipe off the excess with a clean cloth. Mineral oil is available in most drug stores. It is completely food-safe and won’t go rancid like olive oil or other vegetable oils.
Please note that if you place very hot items on the board, burning or discoloration may occur.
