Announcement
I make every item in my shop and many are one of a kind. I incorporate vintage buttons, fabrics & jewels that that my mom (also an artist) collected from the late 1950s - 1980s but she never got to use,. I mix them with feathers and some new items I find in the alleys of the Downtown Los Angeles Fashion District.

4 out of 5 starsThe purse is beautiful. That being said, I was imagining a softer bag. Also, my iPhone plus only fits if I take it out of my case. Those are the only things that I am a little disappointed about.

5 out of 5 starsThis clutch is exactly as pictured. I like the uniqueness of it and think it will look great with the dress (currently away for alterations) for which it is intended. The clasp is a little stiff but I’m hoping that will ease up after being used.

Using vintage buttons, jewels and embellishments to honor the memory of my mom.
My mom was also an artist and quite the collector of vintage buttons, jewels, fabrics, etc. I was so inspired with all these beautiful embellishments she collected but never got to use. I use many of the jewels and buttons my mom collected from her crafting days from the late 1950s to the 1980s which I mix with feathers and some new jewels that catch my eye while running around in the alleys in the Downtown Los Angeles Fashion District.
I started to create adornments for myself to wear that felt special and worthy of a celebration. I would get compliments on the street for pieces I had made myself and had people asking me where I found such fun items. So I decided to expand my wares so others can enjoy them. I sell handmade feather headbands, hair barrettes and clutches and wedding purses. I expanded into my wedding collection when I made my own feather purse for my wedding and had a matching hair piece. I take the pictures of my models in the Arts District in downtown. I like to have the femininity and gothic-ness of my pieces juxtapose themselves against this urban backdrop.
Things that inspire me: Robert Smith of The Cure, haunted houses, Basquiat, Björk, goth clubs, my favorite colors black/hot pink/red, Betsey Johnson, fun tights and knee socks, when the moon is closer to the earth and very big and looming, swirly patterns, Van Gogh, author Banana Yoshimoto (吉本ばなな), Andy Warhol, coffee, excitement, magic and the nighttime city lights I see in my neighborhood.

Jennifer Ann Ogren Nguyen
Owner, Designer, Maker
Yes I have the longest name ever, Jennifer Ann Ogren Nguyen. My middle name is Ann and it was my mom's name so I always like to use it to remember her. I used to teach at FIDM before I opened my shop.
Shop policies
I also believe in being eco-friendly and so I use all recycled packaging. My Aunt is an eye doctor and has an abundance of boxes, bubble wrap and packing supplies from all the eye glasses and contacts she orders. Instead of trashing these items, she saves them for me since they are the perfect size for sending out my special products. This way there is no excess waste on the environment for shipping supplies for my shop.
