Red Queen Miscellanea

Red Queen Miscellanea was born in the fall of 2012 after a new hobby I'd picked up -- making glass bottle jewelry -- got away from me. Suddenly I had ~50 pendants and no time to wear them all. "To Etsy with them!" I thought, and here we are!

As is fairly obvious upon first glance, my jewelry has a strong fantasy and sci-fi bent: from Unicorn Blood to Fairy Magic to Mermaid Tears, it's obvious I'm a fan of mythical and fantastical creatures (and their blood, it seems!) and concepts. I have a fondness for keys and mirrors and other odds-and-ends as well, some of which are also here in my shop (those that I could bear to part with, that is!).

In short: I love the fantastical, the whimsical, the bright and the bold, and I love everything about glass bottle jewelry. This hobby has become something of a passion and I hope the love I have for all of the above shows in the things I create -- both those already listed and custom work.

With the exception of the keys, mirrors, and pre-made items (all marked as such), everything is handmade by me in Metro-Detroit, Michigan.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Gift wrapping is available by request for a small fee.

Gift wrapping includes pillow box packaging, red curled ribbon, and flourish-square 2"x2" note (if requested). No branded materials or business information (business card, order thank-you, etc) are included to reveal seller info/origin.

Please note that GIFT WRAP and MARK AS GIFT/GIFT MESSAGE are separate options; the latter (marking as a gift/gift message) does not include gift packaging/wrap; note will be included on printed packing slip.

Custom and personalized orders

Custom orders are available! Processing time depends on the item(s) to be created and can vary from 3-5 business days to 1-2 weeks depending on complexity.

In general, custom orders must be purchased and paid for before assembly begins. If the order/custom order is large, a deposit of 50% may be accepted prior to finishing the order (remaining 50% to be paid before shipment).

After details are gathered & listing purchased, photos are provided of the "rough draft"; buyer may request changes as needed until satisfied with the result, at which time item(s) would be shipped to buyer.

Returns, exchanges, and refunds for custom orders depend on complexity and customisation. Returns for highly customised items/orders are not accepted.

Care instructions

Most of my items involve glass vials/bottles and should be cared for accordingly. I do not recommend giving any of my items to small children who may put small items in their mouths. I will not be held responsible for any damage or injury caused by swallowing any of my items. I do not recommend giving my items to children under 4 unless usage and wearing is supervised.

Bottles can be created as keychains instead of necklaces (contact for details), but as items are *glass*, please note I cannot be held responsible for damage during use as a keychain.

Labels on my bottles are NOT waterproof, but can be coated for waterproofness for a small fee. Please convo for details.

What happens if an item(s) is damaged during shipping?

Getting items to my customers safely is my responsibility, and I take that seriously. If any item(s) arrive to a buyer in damaged state, I request that said buyer contact me via Etsy convo or email within 72 hours of delivery with photos of the damage. Buyer will then have his/her/their choice of a full refund or replacement item.

Please note that I insure certain orders and/or items at my own cost at my discretion. If an insured item arrives damaged, assistance from buyer with filing a claim would be greatly appreciated, but has no bearing on refund or replacement.

In the event a damaged or incorrect item needs to be returned to me, return postage will be paid by me.

What happens if an item is lost in transit?

If an item or order becomes lost in transit, buyer will have their choice of full refund (including shipping) or replacement items. Domestic (inside the US) parcels are considered Lost in Transit after 21 business days (excluding Sundays and USPS holidays) pass without ANY update to the tracking. International parcels often take longer to arrive, and the time that must pass before a parcel is considered loss varies by country, between 5-8 weeks. Please contact me for details.

Refunds and/or replacements will NOT be offered or possible before the 22nd day without an update to an order's tracking for domestic orders, and at LEAST five weeks (may be longer) for international orders. Please convo or email for additional details.

What happens if I used the wrong address during checkout?

In the event an incorrect address is used during checkout, please contact me via Etsy convo within two (2) hours of purchase. If an item/order is shipped to an address later discovered to be incorrect, buyer will be responsible for shipping fees to reship the item(s) if/when it is returned to me. Please convo or email for additional details.

What if I need an item by a certain date?

If an item is needed before a certain date, I request that buyers order at least two (2) weeks (if located in the US and four (4) weeks if located outside the US) ahead of said date to allow for both my processing/turnaround time and time for the item to reach its recipient via USPS. "Rush" orders sometimes possible, but not always; please contact me BEFORE purchase to inquire re: whether I can "rush" an order. Please do not request I "rush" an order in the Notes to Seller field during checkout without having contacted me first; any such requests will be ignored.

How do returns and exchanges work?

Returns and exchanges are accepted except in select cases (see above).

To return an item for a refund, please contact me via email or convo for full return address. Return postage is the responsibility of the buyer (except in cases of damage, incorrect item, or misrepresentation on my part). Item must be shipped and received in as-sold condition. Refunds are not issued until item(s) has/have been returned and verified to be in as-sold condition. Refunds will be issued within 48 hours (excluding weekends and US holidays). Refund to be issued will be less original shipping (except in cases of damage, incorrect item, or misrepresentation/mistake on my part). No refund can be issued until the item(s) has been returned.

What is your processing/turnaround time?

At the moment, my processing time is 3-5 business days. Please note that this is an estimate, not a guarantee, and that turnaround may be delayed slightly in cases of power outage, injury, increased order volume, illness, etc. Please contact me via email or convo if you have any questions or concerns regarding turnaround/processing time.
