reibergceramics is taking a short break

Note from shop owner I will be back in the late fall when the art fair season is over. You can reach me directly through reiberg [!at] aol.com or reibergceramics.com. My art fair schedule is listed on my reibergceramics.com site.

I wish I had two of me, but I find I can't make pots and do shows AND keep my Etsy shop going at the same time. Although two of me would get into interminable arguments about what to do next so maybe putting the shop on vacation is the best option.

This is my second set. I bought one for my sister, she was so jealous of mine…now she has her own. Beautifully made by hand….I love them!

"holiday" doesn't do it justice, because it is a very classy, earthy tone. We love it! Thank you! God bless all your work.

About

Science teacher to artist.

After taking my first clay class in 1989, I started transitioning out of teaching middle school science and worked toward making my living as a ceramic artist.

I work in a home studio where I design and form each piece on a potter’s wheel. I produce both decorative and functional pieces made with porcelain and stoneware clays. I also teach ceramics classes at the Indianapolis Art Center.

Although always involved in art (jewelry, photography and sculpture) it wasn’t until 1989 at the age of 42 that I began to study pottery. Six years later I resigned my job as a middle school science teacher and began life as a full time potter making a living at art fairs in the Midwest. The hours needed to make all the work and still run the small business of an artist/craftsman are incredible, but I haven’t regretted the decision for a moment.

If you select one of my pieces, please enjoy it knowing that it has been transformed from what was a handful of mud only a short time ago into a piece of art, designed and crafted by me,

I've been making pots as a full time occupation for 18 years. Before that I taught science in Indianapolis middle schools. Most of my time as a potter I've sold my work at art fairs. I am loving the chance to have my work sell on Etsy.
