About

Big Dreams, Little Doll Dresses

Somewhere along the way I gave my heart to dolls. It does not matter what kind, I want them all! I love BJDs, Blythe, Hitty, Barbie, Monster High Dolls... I would have one of each or more if I could afford them.

In the early 90s I started making cloth dolls and bunnies and making frilly dresses for them. I sold those. I remember making a cloth chicken doll for my sister-in-law that was really difficult! I never made another chicken! I made dolls by a few of my favorite designers, Judy Ward, Ute Vasina, Julie McCollough, Gail Wilson and others. I went through a vintage and antique doll stage and I got interested in Hitty, an antique wooden American doll. I bought a Raikes Hitty doll and started making clothes for her. I found hanky dress patterns online and made a couple of those, and sold them. Then I altered that pattern to show off the pretty hankies I was buying and and sold the dresses I made from my new pattern.

Meanwhile my dolls spend a lot of time naked..poor things!

I got married again and moved to Canada to be with my love and have been working part time for 2 years. One day this year, 2014, I made a commitment to myself to make and sell doll dresses not only for pleasure, but to buy more dollmaking stuff and to pay off student loans. So here I am! I am learning to promoted and sell my doll clothes online and to take better pictures. I am glad you stopped by my store!
