New Art Created From Old Books

At ReImagination Prints I take old damaged books that would otherwise be thrown away & upcycle them into unique & one-of-a-kind pieces of art.

The set of dictionaries that I currently work with I found on the "Free To A Good Home" table at a local Friends of the Library sale. Published in 1897, this four-volume leather-bound set was very much out of date & in poor shape. Sadly, the books were destined for the ash heap of history (also known as the local landfill.)

I couldn't let them be destroyed, & I hoped that others would love & appreciate their beauty as much as I did, so I took them home. Now the history of these books & the beautiful patina of their worn & well-loved pages add a timeless dimension to artwork in your home.

I've been an artist all of my life & I have been creating dictionary prints for about 12 years. I began to sell my art on Etsy about 10 years ago & in that time I've sold over 40,000 prints & have shipped to 60+ different countries.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my shop!

Frequently asked questions

ReImagination Guarantee

Was there a problem? Contact me! I'm very easy to work with and I want you to be a happy repeat customer.

If you're dissatisfied for any reason contact me directly with a message through the Etsy message system so we can start the process of setting up return shipping and a refund or exchange. https://etsy.me/3sM3SbA

If your unframed prints were damaged during transit you will need to fill out a simple online form.

*To speed up the process please send photos that show the entire front of the damaged prints AND THE PACKAGING (a requirement by my insurer) with your message plus any photos that you feel are helpful.

I look forward to hearing from you! https://etsy.me/3sM3SbA

Frames

FRAMES ARE NOT INCLUDED

Frames are not included & I'm unable to offer framing at this time.

The antique page sizes vary a little due the nature of the antique books but all artwork is configured as to allow pages to be trimmed to fit 8x10 frames.

The prints are very easy to frame & look lovely in a variety of sizes of frames. The least expensive method is an off the shelf 8x10 but if you want something more striking? A 3 inch wide frame with complimentary matting would be a beautiful choice.

Page Size

The 125+ year old dictionary pages are approx. 8x11 inches but the unframed artwork is configured for 8x10 frames should that be your preference.

The top and bottom of the pages have generous margins & can easily be trimmed to fit the 8x10 frames which come in a wider and more fashionable variety than 8x11 document frames.

The 110+ year old music pages are a little larger but, again, the unframed artwork is configured to fit 8x10 frames should you decide to trim the pages to fit.

If you have time, take a look at the customer photos in my reviews for framing and display ideas!

Gift Messages

Should you send the unframed prints directly to the gift recipient I'll be happy to include a gift message for you!

Please write out your sentiment *EXACTLY* as you'd like me to transcribe it into a card. Unless you're sending the gift anonymously don't forget to "sign" your name with your chosen sentiment, ie "Love, Belle"

NOTE: The Etsy system isn't always compatible with emojis. Write out your message!

***ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATES are an approximation provided by Etsy. The dates depend upon data provided by USPS and even they do not guarantee them.

Damaged Prints

Was there a problem? I want make sure you are fully satisfied with your purchase. Contact me! https://etsy.me/3sM3SbA

On extremely rare occasions prints may be damaged during shipment. If this is the case, PLEASE TAKE PHOTOS of the outside packaging plus detailed photos of the damaged prints and send them along when you contact me via the Etsy message system.

Missing Packages

I rarely have packages go missing but if they do it's usually because a carrier left it in an unexpected spot. My packages are large (9x12 or 10x13) white envelopes with bright red PLEASE DO NOT BEND stamps. They do not fit in standard sized residential mailboxes.

Is there a safe place that your carrier usually leaves over-sized mail? Give that a try and if you don't have any luck let me know and we'll figure it out together.
