Insatiable Vintage Collector- Truly Obsessed!

It all started back when I found an insatiable love for dresses at about age 12 and I could not stop going to shops to buy vintage clothing. This was when you could still find some amazing items in thrift stores…when most people still wanted new clothes that said BUM Equipment and Hypercolor, and did not frequent used shops.
I collected so many over the years that eventually I realized I had to sell some off to people that would love them as much as I do. This was done on Ebay for several years, until I needed a break from the madness of the Ebay world and wanted a place with a little more personal contact.
And then hallelujah, Etsy came along! And here we are. I continue pursue vintage clothing and to learn about the complex world of used and dated clothing. Investigating the source and decade of a piece is like an addiction for me…I absolutely love it! Most of my inventory these days is from local thrift shops, estate sales and the occasional gems I buy online.
Part of the fun for me is keeping the prices reasonable, and in some cases, total bargains. For me, that's an integral and exciting part of the treasure hunt.

Welcome to The ReitaPie vintage clothing shop, where I try to keep the prices low, the quality of the merchandise high (or if there is any damage, it is mentioned in detail in the listing) and the customers happy with their purchases!

Payment
I will generally hold items for 24-48 hours only. I can also hold for extended periods of time if a down payment is received. An order may be cancelled if you tell me within the same day, and it hasn't already been shipped. I understand stuff comes up; if it has been shipped, send me a convo and we can work something out. The best thing to do is to stay in communication!
Shipping
For US customers: I only charge the cost of shipping via priority mail, which includes tracking and insurance. If an item will fit into a priority mail Flat Rate envelope, I will ship it that way, but if it presents any kind of potentially damaging situation, I will then ship it the non-flat rate priority mail. I do not ship first class; it is less expensive for both of us to use priority mail. Shipping upgrades such as Express mail are located at checkout.

For International shipping: I also keep the rates as low as possible and round up to the nearest whole dollar amount (no charge for the packing materials, in most cases.) PLEASE DONT ASK ME TO LOWER THESE SHIPPING COSTS! Often I am losing money on international shipping anyway.
International items are shipped first class, with added insurance. I offer shipping upgrades, so if you need an item faster than priority mail (2-3 days domestic) or First Class (10-14 days International) just select the upgrade at checkout.

I will almost always ship an item within 1-3 business days of the purchase (I tend to ship Tuesdays and Fridays) and sometimes within the same or next day. In cases of overnight, I will ship it same business day if I receive the order before 2pm west coast time. If you would like an item gift wrapped or sent to an alternate address, please let me know so we make sure it gets to the proper address.

I have never had a problem with customs or lost parcels, but it does happen. If an item doesn't reach you, message me and we will start the insurance claim process. You will receive the insurance refund when I receive it…this process usually takes several weeks.
I CANNOT CHANGE THE INFO ON THE SHIPPING LABEL (i.e., mark a lower worth or as a 'gift') because: 1) this is considered mail fraud, and 2) since I insure all my items, the information must be legitimate on the forms. I understand some countries can be absurd with their astonomical customs charges- the only thing I can suggest is having me ship to someone you know at a USA address, and then having them re-ship to you as a gift with a lower marked value. However, if you do choose to do this, once the item is received at the USA address, I am no longer responsible for if or when it gets to you.
Refunds and Exchanges
If I have made an error or oversight in my listings, I will definitely allow returns and I will return the cost of the shipping. I only ask that this be brought to my attention within 48 hours. I CANNOT honor returns that are longer than that. Obviously you should ALWAYS contact me since every situation is unique, but that is my general policy, so please be prepared to keep an item if you've had it more than a couple days.

If the item doesn't fit, or just isn't to your liking, contact me and we will find a way to make things work for both of us. PLEASE do your research BEFORE you buy and make sure the measurements fit you. Do not rely on a size number or an estimation of size based on anything BUT the measurements given in the listing. Invest in a measuring tape to get an exact result if you are going to buy vintage clothing. It is an absolute necessity for everyone involved. I DO NOT GUARANTEE RETURNS for sizing issues, or if you don't like an item.

That being said, I like customers to love their items, since some are from my personal collection and I have a fondness for them, and all of them have been handpicked by me. Sometimes we can work out an exchange for store credit or another item you like. If I do allow a return, in this situation, the customer will pay for shipping and be refunded the purchase price only. But the best policy is to contact me, since every situation is unique. NO RETURNS ON ITEMS IN WHICH YOUVE GOTTEN A DISCOUNT! If you ask for a discount and I have granted it, you cannot return the item. No exceptions, unless I've made an oversight in a description.

PLEASE contact me via Etsy and not my personal email address—these messages go straight to my junk folder and I likely will not even see them!
Additional policies and FAQs
AN IMPORTANT NOTE: I do not launder or dry clean all the items that pass through my shop. I leave this up to the buyer to do as they like, with the cleaning methods they prefer most. Some of these items are over 70 years old-- they have likely passed through multiple owners and households. Some of these homes may have had pets and possibly smokers. Please keep this in mind if you have allergies or are sensitive to odors, and if you don't wish to launder your items before wear, I suggest you stick to buying new clothing and not vintage, or be willing to spend quite a bit more money on your vintage clothes for dry-cleaned items. There are higher end vintage shops that will provide this service at a premium cost. I try to keep prices low and reasonable, so unfortunately I can't do this for all items. Thanks!

Sizing details

Sizing is based solely on the exact measurements given in each listing, in inches or US shoe size. I usually will specify small, medium, large or plus size, but it is best to refer to the measurements before you purchase. Convo me if additional measurements or clarifications are needed.

Wholesale availability

I offer discounts with the purchase of 3 or more items— convo me for specific details, and sending a screenshot of your cart is always helpful!

Explanation of condition ratings

I always try to include every pertinent flaw or issue in each listing. If I say an item is in "great shape," that means no overt flaws have been found, or if they have, I've described them. The only condition term better that 'great' is excellent, or like-new. That means there are absolutely no marks or snags or holes.

Do I launder all my items?

Unfortunately I cannot wash every item that comes through my shop. However I do steam every item (unless it is leather or fur). Steaming helps release odors and also kills off anything worrisome. Some items have been hand washed, but like I state in my policies, part of what keeps my prices so low is not paying to dry-clean every item. If there are stains, washable marks, or odors, these are always mentioned in the listing. I advise washing your items before wear, though, since some are more than 80 years old. Convo me for any advice on washing your item!

What size is this item?

Refer to the measurements, always always always! I encourage this because there is such a range of measurements that can exist within a size number. Also, certain brands vanity size, and older items are going to be much smaller, despite saying size 12, for example. Theres SO much variation, that it is always best to just measure yourself.

Can I get a discount?

If it is a reasonable discount, it doesn't hurt to ask!

Can I return my item?

Please see shop policies for a detailed answer, but most of the time YES, if it is shipped back to me in a reasonable amount of time.
