I ordered 3 of these tunics in a cowl, short-sleeved version. I ordered them in a size small. I am 5'5" and a size 0. They fit PERFECTLY with just enough give to go over my Sweetlegs leggings. Rebecca is incredibly talented, professional, and accommodating. You truly cannot beat her services in quality and pricing. And she was a pleasure to deal with. I will definitely be back in a little while to order some long-sleeved ones! Thank you!

About

I make it, you wear it!

Replicca Clothing is handmade in the city of Hamilton, Ontario. I design every piece from scratch and each garment is made out of soft and colourful bamboo jersey. This laborious adventure is yours for the wearing. Please enjoy responsibly.

The following is a journal entry that I wrote after visiting the Royal Ontario Museum and being inspired by the importance of textiles and usefulness of clothing throughout history.

"So many insights into what it means to be an artisan. Culturally, economically, personally and globally. Historically.
Clothing as function + art.
The struggle to find meaning in my work is giving way to the love of function & form. To offer someone a chance to wear something with good karma; putting positive intention into the pieces, so the wearer has a few simple pieces they can rely on to make them feel physically comfortable, aesthetically beautiful and at the same time, psychologically "clean". Not wearing something with some stranger's pain inter-woven into the seams, someone's exploitation on your back all day. Real tangible value in a world that feels valueless. Map-able origins. Geographically visible. Transparency.
Previously I jumped into this project out of a hunch I had when I was so young I didn't know anything outside of my own environment. Years of living in a poverty mindset, seeing a saturated garment market, with high-end options being priced arbitrarily high with no clear vision of what justified it. Now my value system and my vision of how I can participate in the same industry is finally becoming clear.
Simplicity, quality, honesty.
Long-lasting, timeless, non-trendy, beautiful, comfortable, adaptable, versatile clothing.
Providing an escape from sweatshop labour. Providing awareness and insight into the difference it makes for both the makers and the wearers. Not consumers, for that word suggests that the item can be consumed, processed and discarded. This isn't lunch (although food is equally important to consider), this is daily life. What are your rituals? What do you need in order to perform them? What is your message? How best to convey it?
If you feel good about the garments you wear, your nerves can be calm, your conscience clear, your emotions at rest. You can then go on to eat food that feels just as good, and live a life that follows, to raise children who respect nature and others; this is from the ground up. From where the fabric grows, to how it grows, to who produces it, who handles it.
I'd happily trade 1000 cheap, pain-filled garments for a few select pieces of lovingly-made quality design & construction.
As for everything I want to make outside of clothing, the same thing goes.
It's not a lifestyle, it's your life."

U P D A T E :: I have relocated to the west coast of Canada. What was initially meant to be a month long trip has turned into an indefinite move. I didn't bring my studio with me, so I shut the shop down for a while, but when requests for the cowl top continued to stream into my inbox, and one of my best friends and regular sewing helpers, Kristina, messaged me to say she had a lot of free time on her hands, we decided to re-open the shop as an experiment in long-distance shop coordination. Now my amazing and talented sister Nicole is helping with cut & sew operations, shipping and general administration, and so far everything is running smoothly. Quite by accident, my dream of being a designer and having help with production has come true.
