"old-school" metal buckle collars with our innovative, patent pending 'no-flap' design
We are a very small company in rural Virginia. All of our collars and leads are made by hand in our small studio near the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our collars have several qualities that make them ultra luxe and truly unique.
Here are few important things you should know about us:
- While many swear by plastic side-release buckles, we have always preferred the look and functionality of a collar with a metal double bar buckle and grommets. But we saw this type of collar as having a big flaw. We did not like the ‘flap’ that often occurred at the end. You know exactly what I’m talking about, right? Well, we have changed all that. Our innovative collar design eliminates the “flap”. A series of small magnets embedded in the collar help the end (or flap) adhere to the rest of the collar. This internal feature does not affect the look or fit, nor does it add any weight to the collar. You won’t even know they are there but you will notice how well they work.
- We only use jacquard ribbon on our collars. Unlike satin or grosgrain ribbon which is printed, the design is actually woven into jacquard ribbon. Jacquard ribbon is considerably more expensive than printed ribbons but it lasts much longer (the design on printed ribbon will rub off over time) and the look is much richer.
- We love our pets and believe they deserve nothing but the best. And that’s exactly what you’ll find in our shop.
Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator
I work on 3 webbing widths; 1/2", 3/4" and 1".
My 1/2" collars are recommended for toy breeds and cats. Collars in this section are available in sizes xsmall and small. If you are ordering for your cat, you will likely need an xsmall but it is always a good idea to measure to be sure.
My 3/4" collars are available in small, medium and large.
1" collars are available in medium, large and xlarge.
For detailed measurements on each size, please see individual listings.
If you need a custom size or are concerned you may need a collar that is between sizes, please don't hesitate to ask. I am more than happy to make custom sizes.
Leashes are available in most styles.

Additional policies and FAQs
You bet! Wash them in cold water and lay flat to dry. I do not recommend washing them in the dishwasher. The extreme heat produced by a dishwasher is not good for any of the collar components.
How do I measure my dog’s (or cat’s) neck?
Use a soft measuring tape to measure the circumference of your dog’s neck. If you do not have such a tape measure, use a string to measure your dog’s neck then measure the string against a yard stick or rigid tape measure.
Do you make custom orders?
You bet! One of the most common requests is for custom sizes. While there are a few limitations, we are more than happy to work with you to make sure your pet gets the perfect fit. Another common request is to have a collar made in a different width than is shown in our shop. This is possible but only in certain cases. Whatever your need, please contact us. heather [!at] restowe.com
Do you donate a portion of your proceeds to animal rescue?
For sure!! While we do not have a set $ amount or % we donate each month, we make regular contributions to numerous organizations. We make monetary donations, we donate merchandise for auctions and fundraisers and we often buy merchandise from organizations to aid in their fundraising.
Do your cat collars have any safety features such as a breakaway buckle or elastic o-ring?
No, my collars are made exactly as seen in the photos. I recommend my collars for house cats. House cats are far less likely to get hung on something than an outdoor cat. However, no one knows their cat better than you. If you feel your cat needs a collar with a breakaway buckle or some other type of safety feature, I would never try to talk you out of it. On the other hand, my collars are a great alternative for people with smart and sassy cats that have learned to remove their breakaway collars.
I am ordering a collar for my cat and would like a bell. Is that possible?
Absolutely. Just send us a quick note (firstname.lastname@example.org) after you checkout or add a note in the 'message to seller box' during checkout.
