5 out of 5 starsWhat a cute little dress the print is adorable. It was as described in the listing and even prettier in person. It was packaged safely and beautifully and shipped fast. I have returned to this shop multiple times and would return again and again. The prices and selection of items are wonderful. The shop owner Jill has a great eye and a fabulous taste in vintage . Highly recommended.

RetMod and The Love of Vintage Fashion
Fashion has always been a running theme in my life. From wearing vintage hand-me-downs, to raiding my friends' parent's closets, I have always had a love of clothing and the way it makes me feel. You truly can be anyone you want with a quick outfit change. Clothing lets you express yourself in so many ways, and for me, it brings out a fun, whimsical side of myself. I never take life too seriously, so one could say that my style echos this philosophy. As long as you feel good, you look good!
So how did RetMod come about? Well, one day, I woke up in the middle of the night and had an epiphany that I wanted the domain name of RetMod.com. I didn't know what I would use it for, but I knew I absolutely 100% needed it. Years went by and I did nothing with the name.. I fooled around with ideas, maybe a fashion blog? But ended up just sitting on the name for a while. Finally, after immense pressure from friends, I decided I would start to share my hoarded vintage clothing collection. You see, I had accumulated a lot of vintage clothing in all sizes, just because I loved it so much, and I would let my friends borrow it, or give it as gifts. I had friends that sold vintage, but I never considered it, because I wanted to keep it all!
And then that day came. One day, I looked around me and realized that I had so much vintage, that there was no way I could keep it all for myself. I was driving my husband crazy, walking through bins and racks of clothing everywhere, and it was just pure vintage insanity! I jumped online and started posting some of my beloved pieces. It was just common sense to connect my domain, RetMod.com, with this. Funny enough, my main style of vintage clothing I had collected was mod clothing, so it just matched up perfectly. You will actually see an underlining theme of the mod movement in pretty much everything I do on RetMod.com.
As time went on, I learned to absolutely love sending off my vintage finds to a loving home. In fact, it is immensely satisfying and even better than keeping it all for myself. I have learned to enjoy photographing the piece to document it, then letting it go, off into the world, for another to enjoy!
Years later, I am now able to run RetMod as my full-time job, and I couldn't be more ecstatic and fulfilled. Every day is a joy to me, my job is to revitalize beautiful vintage pieces, my job is to show how you can have fun with fashion, my job is to shop for YOU, and mostly, my job is to contribute to doing good in the world by recycling clothing.
Thank you to all that have, and will, purchase from RetMod. Your purchase is extremely appreciated and makes a difference to me, and to the world.
xoxo Jill

Additional policies and FAQs
SIZING/FIT:
Vintage clothing sizing differs significantly from modern day sizing. Please refer to the measurements given in the listing. To insure best fit possible, compare the given measurements to the measurements of an item in your personal wardrobe.
MEASUREMENTS: How We Take It
Measurements are taken from the outside of the garment with the item lying flat, then doubled. Please compare to a similar style item in your wardrobe to gauge fit.
SHOULDER: from top shoulder seam to shoulder seam, laid flat
BUST/CHEST: from underarm seam to underarm seam at side, laid flat
WAIST: at the natural waistline of the item/smallest part at waist, laid flat
HIP: at the natural hip line of the item/widest part below the waist, laid flat
LENGTH: center top to hem unless otherwise noted in listing, laid flat
BOTTOM OPENING: how big the opening to the bottom of the dress is, laid flat
SLEEVE LENGTH: from top shoulder seam at middle to cuff hem, laid flat
SLEEVE OPENING: how big the opening to the bottom of the sleeve is, laid flat
The measurements are provided are adequate for you to determine whether the item will fit you. You should compare the item you wish to purchase with a similar item that fits you . You should not use the size of the item – if one is available and posted – vintage clothing is sized differently than modern sizing.
CONDITION SCALE: How We Rate It
1-Immaculate Vintage Condition (Rare)
2-Unnoticeable Vintage Wear or Spots that are unphotographable
3-Small Noticable Vintage Wear or Spots, as photographed
4-A Lot of Noticable Vintage Wear or Spots, as photographed
5-Needs Repair or Work
Vintage items may show wear, age, along with signs of use, commensurate to an items age. Vintage clothing may have pinholes/small holes or missing buttons/belts, loose threads/fraying/seams/hems, fading/spotting/discoloration, stains, pulled thread/snags/pilling. I try to list these "imperfections" when as best as I can.
Please understand that you are usually buying one of a kind used "vintage" items. These are seldom perfect. If an item has a serious flaw, rip or stain it will be noted in the description.
If you are someone that expects a vintage item will not show signs of it's past life, than vintage is probably not for you.
RESERVES/HOLDS:
I'm happy to Reserve/Hold items for you. We like to limit the duration to three days max. If you require more time, I understand--just email a request. If the item is not purchased or the reserve extended the hold will be removed --just want to give everyone a fair chance to get their hands on the goods!
PRICING:
Vintage items are collectible and something that will only increase in value as time goes by. When you don a vintage garment, you'll most likely be the only on in the room! As such, vintage items make you more wonderful and unique!
I endeavor to price my items competitively within the marketplace and with current fashion/design trends. Often they are priced less than comparable items from sellers with similar items. In fact, other sellers that have purchased from me for resale.
Designer items are sought after and often rare, therefore are more costly. By the same token a no label/handmade item may be desirable due to construction or pattern or rarity. Even flawed items may command a higher price due to the aforementioned. And sometimes it's just what it takes for me to part with it!
BUYER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Buyer is responsible to read all policies and by purchasing an item, buyer is held to the standard of all our policies. No allowance or exceptions.
Seller reserves the right to not allow future purchases from any prospective buyers.
