North of Hollywood is a memoir of my life as an actor in New York and Hollywood. The Alexandrite is a "Hollywood time travel noir", Impersonators Anonymous is about an unfinished movie starring John Wayne and James Dean, and my newest release, Hello, Rest Of My Life, features a long term marriage and a talking, time-traveling dog. 5 out of 5 starsI bought this mug as a gift. Although I wanted to keep it for myself, the mug is a huge hit with it's new owner. Also Rick was very responsive to my messages and managed to get the mug to me in time for the holidays even though I was def. late to place the order. Excellent experience on all fronts.

Preparing for an exhibit
Humor, Love, Kindness, Gratitude, Compassion.
These are the things I try to incorporate into my life and my art. I’ve spent most of my adult life, first as an actor (rent “Cactus Flower” and check out the young me), and then as a writer. Even though I’ve only been drawing and painting for about seven years, the art was growing inside me and waiting to come out. Now it is my passion and I feel so lucky, and yes, blessed, to be able to do what I love!
I work in watercolors—I love color (my paints are like candy to me). I do the initial sketches in black ink, then dive into the colors. I usually work on the dining room table, or on the bed with newspapers spread all over it. These are my “studios.” If you pass by my house at 4 a.m. and see the lights on, I’m probably painting.
My drawings and paintings are almost entirely products of my imagination. This is not bragging; if you promised to pay me a fortune if I painted the landscape right in front of us, I’d never collect a penny from you. I can’t paint what’s in front of my nose. What I can do—and I’ve never understood why—is to recreate the images and creatures that populate my imagination. These “pictures in my head” are erratic, impulsive, and almost always very colorful. They’re also unpredictable. I never know what’s going to be on the paper when a painting is finished. The odd thing is, I always have a sense of déjà vu when it’s complete—like this is an image, a being, that’s been hanging around inside me all my life.
The original paintings are for sale (please inquire if you’re interested, as prices vary). Most of them are done on heavy, smooth-surfaced white paper, 11 x 17 inches. I use inks and papers of the best museum quality. The giclees I produce are guaranteed to last for generations.
I think most of my giclee prints are well set off (and into easily framable sizes) by the museum-quality white mats I use.
I hope you enjoy looking at my pictures as much as I love painting them.
Thanks for visiting my shop!
