Once upon a time, I fell ill.
The prognosis was grim—I wasn’t expected to make it through the year.
Life is full of surprises and the final diagnosis, after five months of tests, changed everything.
Facing my own mortality was terrifying and liberating.
I saw the world through different eyes. I resolved to live as fully as possible.
With limited mobility, I was drawn to art.
As a child, I dabbled in watercolors, which led me to Hazelhurst, my local gallery.
But adjacent to the watercolor class was the printmaking studio.
The presses, the acids—it all fascinated me - so I took the plunge.
When I cut into linoleum, I would lose myself, I would lose time.
My career to date had me focus on my Left Brain, now my Right Brain is Awake.
A couple of years later, I created art for myself.
As I have learnt with printmaking, there are always extra prints.
This store is the result.
If you’re interested in owning a piece of my personal journey, feel free to message me.
Let’s discuss the price.
If you want it framed, or some mats cut I can help you out with that also.
