Vintage Mama with an Obsession for All Things Vintage
I started my shop after losing my job of many years to oursourcing.
My obsession began as a child. I lived in the Bronx, NY and my mom was a "buyer" of goods who sold to other women in the neighborhood. This was back in the 1960s and many women were housewives who really never ventured too far from their local neighborhoods. That's where my mom came in. She would go to New York City, Canal Street, lower Manhattan, and buy good quality lingerie, stockings, jewelry, etc. and bring it home and sell it.
Well, she brought me along. I would watch and listen. She created a monster. I have always loved fashion. I started to buy vintage clothing and lingerie for myself...and this brought back many memories. After I Iost my job, I found out about Etsy and I decided to open up my first shop, initially starting with vintage lingerie. Then I expanded to anything vintage a woman would wear. Shortly after that, I made the decision to open another shop, looseendsvintage, and sell accessories in that shop, along with anything else vintage that caught my eye.
No regrets.
I love doing what I'm doing. Of course, I love shopping for my items the best. I hand select everything I put into my shops (no cargo or container shopping here). My mom instilled in me a sense of understanding and appreciating quality. This translates to me being ultra-selective in what I buy. That translates to my buyer getting good quality from a conscientious seller.
