Heritage
Everything started with boxes of yarn I received from Rita or Pierrette, my grand-aunts who moved in a retirement home. I wanted to give the yarn a second life, so I began to make woven wall hangings.
In honor of my mom's, grand-parents and other family members teachings, I decided to explore textile design. Macrame, weaving, embroidery, sewing, stamping, I love to explore different ways to transform the materials.
I create objects to make your home cozier. My inspiration comes from the boho universe and modern (mid-century and scandinavian). I mostly use vintage or natural fibers (linen, cotton, wool). I reuse a lot of my production waste to create new pieces.
I also host DIY workshops where everybody can feel creative. I want to create a blog in the near future with videos to reach more people with my demonstrations. Too many persons think they can't succeed those Pinterest DIYs, but I believe they can. You have to believe and dare.
I started Rita Pierrette to fill my need of creating objects and explore my creativity. I hope I can inspire others to do the same.
