5 out of 5 starsThis bandana is so beautiful! From the expertly selected color palette to the wonderfully soft fabric, I can’t wait to use this a million ways. Add in the fact it can be laundered and it is as practical as it is beautiful. The fabric has a nice amount of slight stretch which makes using it as a hair accessory so much easier. I also plan to use it to bundle or wrap items and as an altar or tarot cloth. Another excellent use would be to hang it up as a mini tapestry or even frame it. The store owner and artist, Kat, is also extraordinarily kind, thoughtful and attentive, making any questions and customer service a breeze. This is one of those pieces where you can truly feel the love poured into it. Whatever you purchase from this shop, you absolutely won’t regret it and will become a cherished part of your home for years to come.

5 out of 5 starsSuch a cute deck but I do wish I would have gone with my gut and purchased the larger one. this one would be great for a travel deck but feels too small for a daily deck unless you are going for a minimal space vibe then it is perfect. I still adore it but will be purchasing the larger on later on...

A Studio in the Enchanted Woods
I'm Kat Ryalls, the artist and creator behind this shop. I have been inspired by nature and all of its large and small wonders ever since I was a child growing up along the river in in rural North Carolina. Hence the name river and roots- referring to being rooted and grounded in nature.
I take great care and concern to incorporate Eco-friendly solutions in the packaging and creation of my art and products. I either repurpose shipping materials I receive or use biodegradable and recyclable materials, down to the recycled and recyclable tissue paper that protects your order, and the paper or cellophane tape I use to seal it. I create my prints "in house" on demand with an energy star rated Epson printer with archival inks. This allows me to only plug it in and use it for short periods of time each week.
I am fascinated with exploring connections and relationships between people, experiences, ideas, emotions and places. Often my pieces start with inspiration from the natural world followed by the people that have touched my life, all being woven into the artwork, through hints of colors, under layers and symbolism.
I am a full time artist currently living in my tiny cabin tucked away in the mountains of Western North Carolina, with strong ties to New Orleans where I teach and show work often after living there for 11 years.
