Handmade Jewelry Made with River Rocks and Wire

Mammoth Lakes, California 0 Sales On Etsy since 2013

Announcement   Welcome! All jewelry from River Stone Accessories is handmade by me. I take time and care to craft each piece - though sometimes it seems the wire is speaking for itself. Because of this, along with the fact that no two river stones are ever exactly alike, each piece of jewelry is guaranteed to be completely unique and never reproduced.

At this time, I have only pendants available. In the future, I will also be adding other jewelry options.

About

It all started in Colorado

Selling my jewelry was never the plan. Though the idea had occurred to me several times, I never made anything so unique that I thought it was worth it. That was until a little trip I took...

I was in Colorado, wading through the Taylor River with my cousins and picking out the prettiest rocks. What was I going to do with them? I wasn't sure, but I knew that the rocks were pretty and I wasn't going to pass up gathering a few, even if I'd have to find a way to finagle them into my suitcase. Several days later, as I unpacked and laid the stones out, it hit me. I would make them into jewelry. At that point I had one pendant I wore all the time, a marble wrapped in wire. Looking from it to the stones, I realized that it would be the perfect combination.

I picked my favorite stone, a light pink square one that glittered and looked almost like crystal in some spots. I bought myself some silver wire and started wrapping. It wasn't long before my first river stone pendant was born.

I had planned just to make jewelry for myself and as gifts until an admirer of this first pendant said, "You made that? You should sell those! Have you heard of Etsy?"

Yes, I had heard of Etsy, but never had the idea connected to sell my pendants - until now. That was when I remembered those thoughts of selling my jewelry. This was my chance - these wire-wrapped creations were just the unique idea I was waiting for. So here I am, sharing my pendants. I have plans to expand to other forms of jewelry (I've got plenty of rocks), but for now I'm just glad to be here.

Additional policies and FAQs
Please note with all wire-wrapped jewelry from River Stone Accessories that after extended use the wire will show slight wear. For example, the silver wire is a copper wire with a silver coating, so eventually the silver will rub off.
