RJT DESIGNS - Handcrafted Furniture & Accessories

Waterford, Connecticut

Top shop for gifts.

Announcement    I design and build custom handcrafted furniture and accessories for your home. I also have a passion (or obsession) for growing food, so I’ve also designed and created plans for DIY farm and garden projects.

People are getting back to growing their own food and victory gardens have become very popular again. Adding a greenhouse will allow you to start your seedlings earlier, grow vegetables such as tomatoes and peppers sooner, and extend you growing season by protecting plants when it gets cold. You can even grow lettuce and greens throughout the winter in most areas.

The greenhouse can be built from regular framing lumber or cedar, and covered with 6 mil greenhouse film or polycarbonate. Using cedar and polycarbonate will add extra cost to the project but will also add extend the life of the greenhouse.

All my plans include a complete materials list, cut list, step by step construction & assembly instructions, and templates for cutting angles. My plans are designed for people with no construction experience to seasoned builders. They are easy to follow, straight forward and include all the details needed to complete the project.

I have a material calculations worksheet for each greenhouse so you can price out the cost of materials. Just send me a message and I would be happy to send you the worksheet.

I can also custom design a greenhouse for your particular needs. Send me a message with your requirements and I can give you the cost for a custom design.

I’m in the process of creating plans for chicken coops and sheds as well so check back soon as they will be available very soon.

Happy Gardening!

The workshop of RJ Terry - RJT Designs

For as long as I can remember I always had an interest in designing and building things which led to my decision to go to college and major in mechanical engineering. Not long after college, and working as an engineer, I realized this wasn't for me. I had a much larger passion for architectural design, always designing and building furniture on the side. I quit my job and started working as a designer for a custom woodworking shop.

I was always creative and knew that I wanted to work for myself someday. I needed to carve out my own path in life instead of following others, so in 2001, I decided to start my own architectural design business - RJT Designs.

I work with local cabinet shops, interior designers and stair builders, designing and creating shop drawings for high end custom millwork and designing complex elliptical and radial stairs for very high end homes.

I also design and build my own custom furniture and products. My products are both functional and aesthetically pleasing and are usually born out of necessity. I enjoy working with hand tools and create my pieces one at a time in my workshop. I am not into mass-produced, disposable items and believe in creating only heirloom quality products that are built to last.
