Announcement   I've been working with enamels since 1995. This medium excites me as the colors, the textures, and the designs are all endless when working with enamels on copper.

Retired now for three years, I have been spending more and more time in my studio.

I experiment with the enamels by breaking the rules. I mix colors, fire at high temperatures to push the limits and end up with results that excite me.

I work small to large creating jewelry, switch plates and wall hangings.

Keep coming back as the shop will be growing.

About

Pennies are a Girl's Best Friend

Not having a formal art background, I create to please myself. I am not a purist. I break the rules of traditional enameling as I mix enamels to create new colors. The colors and textures I can produce are boundless. I believe my lack of formal training allows me to be liberated in technique. I create with no barriers or pre-conceived ideas.

When I was traveling in CA, I met a master enamelist who shared his secret with me. He enameled with pennies. Firing on pennies has become my trademark. They are incorporated into most of my jewelry and my wine charms. Unlike him, I leave Lincoln's face showing as I feel that adds to the charm and uniqueness of the work.

As an award winning copper enamelist, I wanted to share my creations with a new audience. Thank you for finding me.

Seeking an outlet from the daily grinds of raising a family and teaching Special Education in an inner city Buffalo school, I turned to art as a way to de-stress and express myself. Working in my studio allows me time to feel, create, and push the limits of the materials I use. I break the rules of purists by mixing transparent and opaque glass enamels together, using the process of firescale, and combine the methods of sifting, painting, and stenciling to create unique one-of-a-kind switch plates, jewelry and wall hangings.

My work has been displayed in galleries, shops and at art festivals for over 20 years. Locally, many prominent businesses and non-profit organizations display my pictures.
