Let's put it this way, I'm a historian and just can't stop finding the history of items, the times, the people who wore these items. I gave up the business life for others and decided "Darn it all! I can do this for me and I'll make it different" How you ask??? (and even if you didn't)
Simple. It's about finding quality, the uniqueness of an item, and most of all better service to those purchasing.

I don't want another vintage store that's out there. It's easy to go in and just buy things and sell them. I want to find the best and the most unique of vintage. I want the lady buying the item to feel this was destiny. She was meant to wear this item, to shine. That she is the only person in the world that is wearing that item. No copies. No one else looks like her. And let's face it - we all want to be unique. To stand out in a crowd and feel great about how we look.

I'm about service. I want each person coming to my shop to feel as if I'm their personal shopper for the only item out there. I do this 24/7. It's my life and I love it! .............and a glass of champagne to calm my buying nerves.

Vintage is my ardor. Specializing in quality vintage clothing and accessories from the 1920's to the early 1960's that are 'Less Travelled' in. I am constantly searching for items that are the calling cards for a lady who demands to be recognized as a unique siren. I strive to offer excellent customer service - reply to all inquiries promptly, and do my best to make your Etsy and RoadsLessTravelled experience, a positive and repetitious one.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:

EXCHANGES: We offer exchanges for items that are returned to us within 7 days of your receiving (in same condition it was sent) and 48 hours of your contacting us to arrange the return number. Buyer is responsible for return shipping cost. You may choose another item of your liking that matches the price you paid (or several items that come to the total you spent). RLTVintage will pay for the exchanged item's shipping cost back to you.

If the item is not returned within the state it was received or there is an issue that the item was worn, there will be a 30% restocking fee deducted from the exchange cost to cover placing/repair/cleaning of the item to place back in the shop.

~As these garments are vintage, between 45 to 100 years old (or older), all items are described thoroughly and sold as-is.

~ *****We cannot offer refunds for fit issues, variances in monitor colors, or buyer's remorse since these things are out of our control. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Please email us with any additional questions before purchasing. We provide measurements to make a proper decision of fit which you can compare to items of your own. Please feel free to ask for additional photos and measurements, we'd be happy to accommodate.

~You should be familiar with the nature of vintage clothing before purchasing a vintage garment from any online venue.

~ Vintage is old and unless it happens to be dead-stock with tags attached, presumably once worn and enjoyed. It will have normal, age apparent signs of wear and use which are to be considered character and not detractions.

~Our pieces are wearable and in Excellent to Near New or New Old Stock condition. Any noticeable flaws or issues will be minor and also well-described. If an item is in Good/Fair/TLC condition please see our chart below for what that means exactly.

~We do not offer any item that we would not personally be thrilled to collect and to wear. We make every effort to disclose any noticeable flaws or issues in our 'Condition' report to help you can make an informed purchase. We also go through the item(s) prior to packaging to make sure there are no other issues we perhaps overlooked in the initial disclosure.

~We can provide additional photographs, measurements, history, or information if you email us. We do not dry clean and spot treat items (unless stipulated in the condition report for the item). We do steam each one out prior to posting but other pressing or cleaning needs will be left to the new owner. All items come from a smoke free home boutique.
PayPal and Credit Cards are the only accepted form of payment for transactions.

All purchases from California Residents will be subject to State Sales Tax of 9.75%

USE of our Photographs/titles/descriptions when RESELLING is prohibited. Please take your own photographs.

If in future, you decide to sell the item(s) purchased here at RLTVintage, our photographs, titles, descriptions are the sole property of RLTVintage and therefore you will need to provide your own photographs, titles, and descriptions wholly different from RLTVintage. By clicking the 'Submit Order' button and completing the transaction you agree to cease from using these items.
US DOMESTIC ORDERS: All items are carefully packaged and shipped via USPS First Class (smaller jewelry packages) or Priority Mail within five business days of your payment. Delivery Confirmation is provided for both our benefits. Insurance is available upon request.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: All items are carefully packaged and shipped First Class International Mail, within five business days of your payment. This does give delivery confirmation and delivery time can range from 3-12 weeks depending on your location.

**Shipping by First Class International Mail is not covered for claims if item is lost/damaged/stolen by the USPS and is not the responsibility of RLTVintage to refund you for your lost or damaged parcel. Please use the Priority International option for peace of mind and ability to claim a lost or damaged parcel. You can contact us prior to purchase and we will give you the cost for Priority International for your item.

**RLTVintage is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged or undeliverable items. We do our best to accommodate special shipping needs so please let us know prior to checkout if you need this. We hand deliver each package to our local Post Office.

For International Orders over 4 lbs in weight: US Postal Service only allows items to be shipped USPS International Priority. They do NOT accept any other way to ship.

We offer Layaways! Layaways are only available on items that are NOT on Sale and are over $150. We offer a 30 day layaway with two payments of equal proportions that includes any taxes (California) and shipping.

Reserved items are only for 48 hours. Clearance items are not eligible.

VINTAGE CONDITION CODES: You mean it's not brand new?

NOS or New Old Stock:

This means great luck to find old stock that's been hidden away for years and
the stock cannot be put out in the store because that store no longer exists.
The item still has its original tags/item has never been worn. If there is something amiss, I'll mention it.


And not Mint Julep. Mint is where the item is coming to you in amazing
condition. It might be new or never worn but we cannot guarantee that. The
most this item will need is a dry cleaning before wearing since it was stored for years.


Yes. It is almost new. Most likely it was worn once and though looks brand new,
it might have one thing amiss. A button is loose, a seam is a little wonky, a rhinestone has dulled, etc. You get the picture, right?


And it should be. This item was worn, once perhaps twice maybe it was worn
for 4 years but the lady took great care of keeping it excellent condition. There
might be a little dirt possibly a missing belt, a few stitches, it was altered, a
rhinestone or two, heel taps will need to be replaced. This item will need
minimal attention to wear it again, it will need a dry cleaning to perk her up


She's seen better days but the party isn't out of her yet! And that is how we see Good vintage. It will need some attention and a little money spent on her to
fix the old gal back up, but trust me, she's gonna knock 'em dead! She'll need
some stitch work, dry cleaning, spot cleaning, repairs, maybe some dye work
on a few areas. The old gal is still kicking so don't give up on her yet.


We might not have the talent or skill to help this poor thing out but we do know
there are others out there who do, so if you have the time here is the old thing
ready to be reworked, remade, used for bits and pieces.

Can I Use My Coupon Code with Clearance Items?

Coupons are not able to be combined with Clearance or running sales. Coupons are often inactive during sales.

Do You Accept Offers?

We do not. We take great care in finding, cleaning, presenting and listing items. It's our full time job and the prices reflect what we paid for the items and our time doing this job.

Due to our busy schedule with clients and life, we don't answer this question when enquired as we have stated this in several places on the site.

Do You Offer Discounts?

We do however this is reserved for bulk purchases. That does not include items already in Clearance nor when the shop has a running sale.

How Long May I Reserve an Item?

You may reserve an item for 48 hours or 2 days.

Do You Take Returns?

No. Because vintage is unique and has a 'used' history to it, we do not accept returns. All Sales are Final. We take great care in providing many accurate measurements, detailed and accurate descriptions, encourage more questions and additional photographs if needed, in order to help the buyer make a confident purchase. Please ask all questions prior to clicking 'submit order' button.

Sizing details

We physically take all measurements when we list the item.

Bust: is from one side of the garment underarm to the other side laying flat.

Waist: is from one side of the garment at the waist to the other side laying flat

Hip: is from the widest part of the skirt where the natural hip would be laying flat and measuring across from side to side

Shoulder to waist: from the top seam near the neck down over the breast and to the waist band while on the mannequin

Shoulder: from shoulder seam to seam across while on the mannequin

Length: same as the Shoulder to waist but all the way down to the hem while on the mannequin

What if I saw an item and it was on sale but now it's not?

Just like everything in our consuming world, sales start and sales end. One doesn't go back and ask the petrol station attendant to give them the price from last week. Be patient for the next sale or try our layaway for ease of mind.

What does a bulk sale constitute?

Bulk sales are given a special discount when 5 or more items are purchased at one time. The items that are eligible for the special discount are in the regular priced sections.

Gift wrapping and packaging

We take great care in packaging items so you receive them in the condition that was listed. Items are tissue wrapped, placed in protective plastic, depending on item it will be taped and secured to the inside of the box and then protected further with bubble wrap, tissue, popcorn or air pillows.

We do recycle boxes when we can to help with the environment and to save on rubbish being dumped frequently.

If you require gift wrapping please ask and we'd be more than happy to accommodate your request.

Do You Offer Layaways?

Layaways are only available on items that are NOT on Sale and are over $150. We offer a 30 day layaway with two payments of equal proportions that includes any taxes (California) and shipping and a 60 day layaway of five payments of equal proportions (including CA tax and shipping). Clearance items are never eligible.

If you live in California then you are taxed otherwise you will only see shipping included.
