RobinLK Studios, a woman veteran-owned Florida biz, offers handmade journals + original, curated supplies, fun art & creative learning events.

Welcome to RobinLK Studios, a tiny creative biz established in 2015 to nurture women’s growth through approachable play with words and colors.

Etsy is the front door to my coastal Florida art & writing studios. Welcome! So glad you dropped by!

Here, you’ll find handmade mixed-media journals, curated journaling supplies- many, vintage, and original art — all designed with “learning about one’s self” in mind— while exploring, discovering, clarifying, and affirming.

HOW IT BEGAN
I've been playing with language since I was a ‘wee one’ — encouraged to read, write, and explore words long before I started school.

I even grew up to become a Reading Specialist after serving in the Navy, teaching middle, high school, and college students in Florida schools.

Serving as a college instructor for professionals transitioning into a teaching career and as a mentor and coach to fellow educators also provided more opportunities to learn how grownups learn. 😊

But in late 2014, my love of words failed me when we learned my youngest sister, then 34, had aggressive breast cancer. My writing voice fell silent as we struggled with the news.

Thankfully, art ‘discovered me’ and colors became a tool for finding my way back to writing.

EXPLORE. DISCOVER. PLAY.
Understanding the power of creative practice, I offer words + colors to women exploring change, needing creative play, or seeking quiet respite.

Coffee in hand and "process" as my guide, my creative work tells ‘micostories’ with universal themes while encouraging women (and the occasional guy!) to tell theirs.

In 2021, after 27 years in public education, I retired early to pursue small biz ownership full-time, with my thriving Etsy shop serving as one of many ways I nurture personal & professional growth in others.

CONNECTING
Shopping with RobinLK Studios is a connection to women like you and me — who enjoy creative time with beautiful journals and journaling supplies - or enjoy whimsical art as a daily reminder of what’s possible. 😊

Most of my customers (over half are repeat shoppers), often comment on how surprised they are that their purchase “was exactly what they needed” or “said exactly what they were feeling” — as though I somehow knew. 😊

We are all connected. 💓 I look forward to meeting you!

Wishing you creative curiosity and soul-smiling messiness,

Robin

Frequently asked questions
Can I add your art & writing to my own journals?

My art, journals, and writing are original. I hold all copyright protections.

As a journal artist, I create original journals and journaling supplies— meant to inspire and empower their owners.

PERSONAL USE: Yes, use all of my mixed-media supplies — No attribution is needed.

RESALE: No, please do not sell my work as your own. Doing so is illegal.

Can I see what you do in the studio?

Yes! Follow me on Instagram for (mostly) daily studio stories.
https://www.instagram.com/robinlkstudios/ or if you're an IG user, say hi! @robinLKstudios

I don’t use Instagram. How else can I see what you’re up to?

You can subscribe to my email/newsletter:

robinlkstudios.com/subscribe

or follow me on Pinterest @robinLKstudios

How long does it take you to make a journal?

A few hours to several weeks.
They're not mass-produced or digitally made. Each is a one-of-a-kind art piece and gets my full attention during the process. Even tiny journals take a few hours, with their own unique embellishments!

Where do you get those tiny words?

I cut them all by hand from repurposed books, most vintage.

Where do you get your stories?

Life! :) “Found Word" microstories are stories in my head that "reveal themselves" - no two are the same.

Where do you get your Journal Supply Bit Kit pieces?

I'm always on the hunt for things I can tuck into my JSB Kits. Many are vintage. I buy during shop family adventures, from fellow Etsy shops, during buying trips, and when we travel. Maps, brochures, and ephemera from the region we're visiting often become part of my JSB Kits.

Do you offer workshops?

Yes! And playshops + groups, too.
