This is one of the coolest ways to reuse our old rotary phone, and it makes me smile every time it rings!
Robomotive Laboratories, located in Cincinnati Ohio, helps people make cool things.
Smart phones are great, but you can't beat the charm of a vintage rotary phone with actual metal gongs for the ringer. When my family and I canceled our landline, we didn't want our antique rotary phone to go to waste. That's why I invented the Doorbell Phone. It is a great way to make beautiful rotary phones useful again. The doorbell phone rings any analog phone with the push of the wireless doorbell button.
After talking to friends and family about my project, I realized I wasn't the only person sad to see their rotary phone no longer in use. I started and successfully funded a Kickstarter project at the end of 2014. (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/713401305/doorbell-phone-a-rotary-phone-doorbell/description)
Thanks to the success of the Kickstarter, I can open up sales of the doorbell phone to the public.
The basic doorbell package is for use with any rotary phone. Please note, you cannot use a phone that is already hooked up to a landline. We also offer multi-button packages if you have more than one door. Don't have a rotary phone? We also sell packages including a vintage or a brand new rotary phone!
