I and my grandchildren started rock-hounding only 12 years ago. My interests & paths have always been guided & fueled by my children's needs. So when I broke my leg pretty bad that year I found that I became homebound for longer than expected & couldn't do our usual travel spring & summer for camping.
In the process of looking for something in nature to do with my big family I found so many rockhounding clubs in the Seattle Area it was craz!. Our first outing here in Washington was searching for Garnets in a rushing river. The kids & I ended up with not only the most Garnets but the largest! Instant Hit! After about a year it became clear that we would need a way to finance our new passion for collecting, cutting & cabbing rocks. So we bought our first slab saw & never looked back.
I have been selling on Ebay ever since with great success. Now it is time to move to a more ethical place for sharing our wonderful creations & making & supporting new friends in the business world. Who says business has to be only about profit?. So we are starting here & hope to branch out to our own website, Facebook for auctions & other places we may find along the way. I expect it to be fun, fulfilling & a learning experience of what will work & what wont.
My goal is to teach my family to follow their passions & they will see then that success on all levels will be a natural outcome. Which has always been my experience.
What better way to follow that passion than entrepreneurship!!
I have been starting my own business' since the age 16.
Each has been successful & fun. But never held more than a decade.
I feel I have finally landed on my feet for the duration. This is the most FUN & CREATIVE yet.
