Rock This Vintage
I have had a love affair with vintage clothing since I was a teenager. When I toured the states and travelled to Europe I collected vinyl and vintage clothes. After lugging everything back with me from my travels I had to rent a storage space for my ever growing collection. I studied film at Humber College and York University and I became an art director in film and television. After several years I decided a new career path was in order and I answered an ad in the newspaper. It simple stated " Do you want to be a vintage clothes buyer?" It had hearts and peace signs all around it and a single phone number. I was pretty excited, my dream job! I wore my best vintage duds and met up with the founder of Kensington Market in Toronto. I got the job immediately and was trained for over a year. I learned all the trade secrets! I began picking for big stores across the States and Japan. I took over the Canadian division of this company and soon stores I was picking for were being awarded for best vintage clothes selection. I quickly realized I wanted to open up my own shop. One year later I opened up the Mad Gypsy in a beautiful little polish neighbourhood on the west side of Toronto. After eight wonderful years I closed its doors and launched Rock This Vintage. I hope you enjoy my selection x
Owner, Curator, Model And Photographer
I was an art director in film before becoming an international vintage clothes buyer for a company in the U.S. I soon opened a store called the Mad Gypsy in Toronto. After eight wonderful years I closed shop and I launched Rock This Vintage. Welcome!

Additional policies and FAQs
I measure in inches with items laid flat and I double them to save you from having to do the math! ie: waist measured at 15" will be 30" in my descriptions. Please remember to leave room for movement in the clothes! The best thing to do is find a comparable piece you own that fits you well and take the measurements and compare!
If there is no sizing on a shoe I will add the in-sole measurement, meaning I measure from the INSIDE of the shoe from toe to heel. If you do not feel comfortable with the measurements please contact me for additional information!
Please take into consideration when buying vintage that most items have been previously loved, over 30 years old and that there will be a little wear. (I have been picking for over 10 years and do not pick items with noticeable wear. If however I do, I will add in my description any noticeable wear or flaws.) * I price my items according to condition!
Good condition: some general wear to the item, may have a visible pull(s) or small mark(s) which I will describe and add photo if possible. (Some marks are so small that they just do not show up on my camera! I use a high quality digital camera and most photos you can zoom to see details.)
Great condition: hardly any wear and maybe a small mark/pull which I will add in my description.
Excellent condition: hardly any wear and no visible marks, stains, tears or pulls.
Mint condition: In the best shape! Looks as though it has not been worn, or very little. No stains, marks, tears or pulls.
*Please note: Sometimes a small flaw can be over looked as the items are between 25-45 years old! Please message me if I have accidentally over looked anything.
I wash every item unless otherwise noted. Please take care in reading the instructions on labels and wash accordingly. I hand wash everything in cold water with baby detergent and hang to dry. Hand washing is always best with vintage as seams and thread can become weak over time. (I sometimes wash a piece in the machine on delicate to make sure the item is not going to fall apart on anyone, or bleed colours!) I find these articles are better made than modern clothing and hardly ever have any trouble with washing.
Thanks, happy shopping!
