About

do sit down. oh won't you have a little dream with your tea?

Rococo Vintage carries carefully curated vintage clothing from the better part of the 1900s and the later part of the 1800s. The pieces are selected for their beauty, their whimsy, their exceptional condition, and their ability to be worn by even the most contemporarily minded girl. I approach photographing and detailing my garments in the same way that photographers and writers approach their art, and my ultimate aim is to provide a shopping experience that is not only about the beauty of the clothes, but about the beauty of the experience, as well. In other words, Rococo Vintage provides a shopping experience for the deeply, the truly, and the madly aesthetically sensitive.

THE STORY

Rococo Vintage was founded in Mary Pickford’s old apartment, on one balmy afternoon in the middle of one Los Angeles summer, by one little girl named Rebecca Emily Darling (but only upon the bidding of her roommate who, naturally, is the ghost of Mary Pickford.) “Miss Rebecca,” said Mary all of a sudden and clearly in quite a huff, “it is high time you gather your silly self together and share your treasures with the rest of the world. Surely I am the best friend a girl could have, and you could live on me and tea cakes for all the rest of your days, but really, you must gather your strength, leave your cavernous cave of books, and venture outward to spread some beauty and wit to the rest of the world.” Fortunately for Little Miss Rebecca, the internet was a way to do just that while straying little more than a few feet from her nest of spines and pages;

and so, Rococo Vintage was born.

    Owner, Curator

I am the great great granddaughter of Wendy Darling. I like fairy tales and cats and coffee and gin. I've a great affinity for art nouveau maidens and fairy tale heroines and an especial fondness of the Victorian gothic. Also, ghosts.

"Dandyism in certain respects comes close to spirituality... Contrary to what many thoughtless people seem to believe, dandyism is not even an excessive delight in clothes and material elegance. For the perfect dandy, these things are no more than the symbol of the aristocratic superiority of his mind."

Payment
Immediate payment is expected for all purchases, unless we have discussed otherwise beforehand. We are happy to reserve items for you for up to 24 hours or for longer than that with a non-refundable deposit. If you are interested in reserving an item, please contact us with the date you would like the item held until and we will get back to you about what kind of deposit would be required.

✩ We are pleased to offer LAYAWAY for items over $200. (Yay!) We typically offer at least two different layaway plans, so contact us to discuss your options.
Shipping
DOMESTIC ORDERS will be shipped via Priority Mail through USPS, and will include insurance, tracking, and delivery confirmation.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS of over $150 will ship via Priority Mail through USPS, and will include insurance, a tracking number, and delivery confirmation.

International orders below $150 will ship First Class Mail through USPS, and will include insurance.

International customers are responsible for any duties, taxes, or customs fees that may be assessed upon arrival of your parcel according to your country's customs policies. Please contact your local customs office for more information regarding taxes, duties, and custom fees if you have any questions or concerns.

SHIPPING TIME: Your garment(s) will typically ship within 3 to 5 business days. If you need an item by a certain date, please send us a convo or an e-mail to let us know and we will do everything we can to get it to you as soon as possible. We do not ship on weekends except in the event of a fashion emergency. ;)
Refunds and Exchanges
All items are FINAL SALE. That said, please don't hesitate to contact us if you feel that something is amiss, as we want to be sure you have a pleasant experience shopping with us.

Items are not returnable due to size compatibility. Approximate sizes are for reference only, so please check all measurements before you make your purchase -- we take our measurements very, very carefully for this very reason. If you have any concerns about whether a garment will fit, or any questions about the exact color (due to monitor variations) please convo us and we will be more than happy to help you out. :)

We do the absolute best that we can to ensure we catch and make note of every visible flaw -- right down to pinholes -- but as we are merely human and dealing with garments of considerable history, there may be the rare instance where we miss something very small. Items are not returnable due to any minor flaws we may have missed that do not affect the garment's appearance, value, or wearability.

Garments are also not returnable due to color variations that may occur between the garment and how it may appear on your computer screen. We check all of the photos on two different computers to ensure that they are as accurate as possible before listing all items, but brightness and saturation often vary wildly from computer screen to computer screen, and that is, unfortunately, beyond our control. Colors are typically described within the listing for additional information, and if you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to ask.

If any issues arise with your item, or you feel that it was misrepresented in any way, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your item so that we may discuss a solution. We want you to have a pleasant experience shopping at Rococo Vintage, and will do what we can to make sure that happens!
Additional policies and FAQs
❥ Condition of Vintage Clothing

All of the items in our shop are 20 years old or older - most of them have been previously worn and loved, and therefore may not be 100% free of minor defects. We make note of all noticeable flaws in our descriptions. If you have any questions about a garment, please send us a convo and we will answer your questions as thoroughly as possible.

❥ Sizing and Fit

All of our garments have been carefully measured while lying flat, and the bust, waist, and hip measurements have been doubled. Please make sure to check your own measurements with a tape measurer, and remember that the measurements we give are those of the garments, and not body measurements - so leave a bit of room for living your lovely life (and sitting down!)

❥ Convos, Questions, and Love Letters

Please don't hesitate to contact us, whether through a convo on etsy, or through e-mail to rococovintage [!at] gmail.com. We love working closely with our customers, and want to make sure that you have a fun, pleasant, and informative experience with Rococo Vintage!
