Hello and welcome to our store. Prior to the birth of our son, Rogelito, we would never have imagined that we would have started an online business, and especially not one making and selling baby products. His birth has increased our awareness of the importance of modeling eco-friendly living to our children from birth, and has led us down the path toward the creation of Rogelito’s Closet.

As a wildlife biologist and an ex-social studies teacher (and currently a stay-at-home mom), we believe that the individual choices we make impact the larger world. It is our goal to provide you and your family with the choice to purchase products that have a positive impact on our planet and on our children.

In addition to providing eco-friendly choices in baby products, we strive to support local businesses and families. Nearly all materials for our products are bought locally on the Big Island.

Rogelito's Closet products are handmade by Rogelito's Mommy in Hawai`i. It is our hope that in the future we can feature addition products by other stay-at-home moms. We want to support moms who want to stay at home with their children and help them to have the ability to do so.

Thank you for visiting our store and we hope you enjoy our products.

Additional policies and FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions:

Why buy organic?

Cotton is one of the most heavily sprayed crops around. These pesticides have negative impacts on farmers and their land, the workers who transform the cotton into the products we see in stores and on consumers who get exposed to pesticides still present on items they buy. By buying organic you are not only making healthier choices for yourselves and your children, but supporting farmers and workers who choose a more environmentally conscious approach to farming.

Where do you purchase your materials?

The majority of materials (all that are available) are purchased at a local vendor in Hilo, Hawaii. Those that are not locally available are purchased from United States based vendors online that conduct business in an environmentally sound manner.

Is Rogelito's Closet a bilingual store?

Yes, Rogelito's papi was born in El Salvador and is a native Spanish speaker. Feel free to email questions or comments in Spanish.

What do you use to pre wash your fabrics?

We use Charlie's Soap. "It is made with a unique blend of biodegradable coconut-based detergents and high-grade, completely soluble, Green River washing soda." Go to http://www.charliesoap.com/products/ for more info.

Why do you only ship via USPS?

We choose to ship only through USPS because of our efforts to run our store in an eco-friendly manner. USPS drivers will drive past everyones house everyday to deliver mail and will not have to make an extra trip to deliver our packages thus limiting the use of natural resources. Other mail carriers such as UPS or FedEx would have to make a special trip.
