Note from shop owner Keeping my love and passion for all the goodness I get to create and send to you, I do though need to take a pause with my shop. Stepping away for a little, so that I can give time and support to necessary emotional healing of mine. I keep all of you in my heart and am so appreciative of you taking time to read this. I truly hope this etsy shop pause to be brief and I thank you for your compassion and understanding. Love to all of you.

ROKK YOUR AWESOME. BECAUSE YOU ARE!

Hello and thank you so much for visiting my shop! I am sincerely grateful for every opportunity you give me by connecting with me and allowing me to make something for you or your loved one. Really, it is a joyful honor to do this and I want you to know how much love goes into what I create and the service that I give you.

I would love to share with you the personal story of how this all began.

RokkabellaMade evolved from a twenty year old dream and turned into a saving grace for me and my family- my six year old daughter Lucy Annabelle and my mom Anne. It has been us three, side by side (by side) for the last six years. Mom watched Lucy while I worked full time at Starbucks.

In the blink of an eye, mom became terribly sick. No longer was I able to leave for work every day. I needed to be home to care for mom and daughter. Mom was recovering from Guillain-Barré Syndrome. Honestly, we didn’t know what was going to happen. Mom had to re-learn how to do basic daily activities like walking and eating. I am incredibly grateful that, as a long time Starbucks partner, I was able to take a sabbatical from my work. Thankful to not have to leave for work daily, but scared to suddenly lose my income. I took out a huge loan from my 401k so we could get through this time.

My last year before turning 40 and I was a wreck! I needed to find work I could do at home and my 401k loan that we all lived off of was coming to an end. It was tough to say the least. I had no degree, no idea I could really do anything other than retail. But I had that one dream- that someday I would have my own business. I didn’t know if it would ever come true though or through what avenue it could. Soon, my daughter began preschool. Every morning, I cut out a little paper heart and I wrote a positive message onto it. I wanted Lucy to know that I was thinking of her while she was away. More importantly, I wanted Lucy to build her self love, her confidence and her strength of character. Lucy's preschool teacher would read the note to Lucy at lunch each day.

One month later, these little paper hearts brought my twenty year old dream into reality. I wanted to get these positive affirmations and messages to more kiddos (and teens and adults too!). I thought about what sort of platform I could do this through and if I could create a business plan from this.
I bought a bunch of metal blanks, learned a new skill of hand stamping, and in the summer of 2017 I opened up shop. What I create is for children and teens, for women and men. It began with hand stamped bracelets and necklaces. I create each one individually and what I stamp on here are messages of kindness & compassion; of self love & wellbeing; of empowerment, strength & determination. Very often, these are personalized mantras & affirmations and even just single guiding words. My tagline for RokkabellaMade developed easily: ROKK your awesome.. Because you are!

The passion and motivation to do this was through the rooftops. My heart was overwhelmed with joy from these two things. 1. I have the opportunity to uplift and inspire people all over the world. And 2. With my focus and hard work, this can be something that I can support my family with.

I am so grateful for every single opportunity shown to me- It is an honor to make these special pieces and I appreciate all the interactions I have within Etsy, at the gallery where I show my work, and at markets I attend. The quality of my work, my service and my communication are consistently recognized. I have made over 1000 items for people. Every single review I have earned is a 5 star review. Taking care of customers is undoubtedly my greatest goal.

One of the special moments I think back to often, is helping someone who was giving a lot of time to Haitian orphanages. She asked me to create necklaces for all the orphans and caretakers there. Each one, I made by hand and stamped Je suis aimé and Je suis aimée - This is french for I am Loved. I also have brought comfort to people who are suffering through a tragedy. Their words to me after I have helped them bring even more love into my role here.

Through pain, difficulty and uncertainty, my little family came out on the other side. And actually, my year of being 40 - was the best yet! By the way, mom has recovered a lot from what happened. The three of us are a strong unit in love. Even though we have struggles often, I continue my motivation to do the best I can and RokkabellaMade has helped make this possible.

CHILDREN'S SIZING HELP

Children's wrist sizes vary, of course. I like my daughter's bracelet to not dangle, and to fit closer to her wrist. That way, the chance of loss is minimal. I offer four kids sizes for you to choose from:

4.0" SMALL TODDLER WRIST
4.5" TODDLER / CHILD
5.0" TODDLER / CHILD
5.5" TEEN

Important-
For small children- adults can gently widen the opening before putting the cuff on (SIDEWAYS). Then (as needed), gently push the ends towards each other or closer to the wrist. Avoid putting too much stress back and forth. I like my daughter's bracelet to not dangle on her wrist.
Reverse this gentle process when you take off the child's bracelet.

All this Kids sizing information is also posted in a photograph in each KIDS listing.

TEEN / ADULT SIZING HELP

5.5" is for an Adult SMALL wrist. A good size for small wrist teens as well.

6" fits AVERAGE size woman 〈 this is the most popular length size 〉

7" is for an Adult XL wrist 〈including a man's wrist〉

My small wrist is 5 3/4 around. And I can wear the 5.5" well, though I also like wearing the 6" and enjoy it being loose.

Do not fret over adult sizing (: They are somewhat adjustable, as long as you take care when putting them on / taking off. Please do not put too much stress on your bracelet!

COPPER METAL and it's oxidation process

Copper is a beautiful metal, that over time, will lose it's bright shine and develop it's own patina from a deep brown and finally to hues of blue and green. Factors like humidity; body oils; and how you store it will factor into the oxidation equation. Most people who prefer copper really appreciate this natural process. As noted in the listings, your copper will not stay the bright copper color.

If you purchase a copper bracelet from me, I will include in your package some tips on how to care for your copper, including cleaning, storing and how to lessen the patina (if you so desire).

STAINLESS STEEL KEY RING

Stainless Steel Key Rings: All 3 pieces are Stainless Steel.
Stainless Steel necklace: The ball chain included is also Stainless Steel.

Stainless Steel is hypo allergenic, does not rust, change color or tarnish.

If you wish to clean your Stainless Steel, a mild soap is fine & a cloth to dry.

If you want to remove minor scratches on your SST, you can use medium to coarse grit sanding sponge. 150 is good. Brush in one direction rather than dig in to one spot and make it more noticeable.
You can also use a bit of whitening toothpaste (yes, for real)

With wear, the black will begin to fade. If you like, you can use a permanent sharpie to color in the letters again. Then use that sanding sponge or polishing cloth to wipe it off!

ALUMINUM bracelets

There are many benefits to buying Aluminum. It is lightweight. It is hypoallergenic. It does not rust or tarnish like Sterling Silver will.

If you wish to clean your Aluminum, a mild soap is fine. Use a cloth to dry.

If it is a cuff that I handmade for you: Gently widen the opening before putting the cuff on (SIDEWAYS). Then (as needed), gently push the ends towards each other or closer to the wrist. Please avoid putting too much stress back and forth. Doing so repeatedly will damage the bracelet.

I used gilders paste to darken the stamped impression.
As this begins to fade, you can use a permanent sharpie (industrial
strength best) to color in the letters again. Wipe off excess sharpie.

Gift wrapping and packaging

I understand that gift wrapping is on the mind of many shoppers so I want to offer this to you, but doing so thoughtfully with packaging that will not end up in the landfill. You can now choose to have me gift wrap this for you. Simple, classic and eco-friendly! Recycled chipboard box created in the U.S. Your recipient can reuse this box over and over. Finished with 100% cotton ribbon with zero toxic dyes.

If you do not add on the gift wrapping option, have no fear. As always, every handmade piece is placed into a muslin bag and includes a metal care card for the recipient.
