About

Hello and welcome to Rolling E Ranch!!

My name is Diana and I grew up in the suburbs of Manhattan. When I turned 40 I realized if I wanted to change my life it was now or never. So I pulled up stakes and headed west to Colorado where I met and married my wonderful hubby and also gained an awesome step son.

Hubby and I went on to buy an 80 acre ranch on the rolling plains of eastern Colorado and build our dream retirement ranch. Retirement to us means working for ourselves, working hard every day and loving every minute of it.

Our herd of 30 alpacas are out on pasture most days and nights. They love to roll in the dirt and anything else they can find, which means they get darned dirty. But, to me, this is how Alpacas should live and we are blessed enough to have a ranch where they have room to stretch their legs and enjoy life.

Once the alpacas are shorn in the spring, I "skirt" their fleeces, removing as much of the dirt, VM (Vegetable Matter), poo and whatever else they have picked up along the way. It is impossible to remove everything from their coats, even the mill is unable the remove every little bit, so if you do find some VM in your fiber, that is normal, and is a reminder of how our alpacas are able to live the way they were intended.

My Etsy Shop is where I sell our Sinfully Soft & Sumptuous yarns from our Alpaca herd, in both natural and gorgeous hand dyed (by me) colors, colorful glass stitch markers (also made by me), jumbo artisan crochet hooks, which are perfect for Tunisian crochet & chunky yarns, and my original knitting designs. I have been knitting for 16+ years, so the Etsy shop was a perfect place for me to carry my yarns and other creative products.

I hope you will visit my blog and other social sites to learn more about our life here on the ranch where every day is an adventure!
