About

I began painting in 1986 at the height of the folk art boom and it was a way to "look busy" as I searched for a new job!

I began my "professional career" after college in Arkansas as a Christian Education/Music Director for a Cumberland Presbyterian Church, but I was so "green" and unable to handle the stresses of that job, so I packed my bags and moved back home...I struggled with the guilt of leaving what I thought was "my calling". It was the heighth of the folk art craze, so my Daddy decided he could cut some things out for me and I thought I could paint, and so my journey began. I found a wonderful job working at Vanderbilt University in the textbook department and continued to develop my painting skills. Thankfully, both Daddy and I got better as the years went by. I opened a shop in 2000 and was the caregiver for my parents until their deaths in 2003 and in 2012. In June of 2012, I opened my website and started posting daily to facebook. I have recently started designing my own patterns and offer many of them for sale as INSTANT DOWNLOADS. I LOVE creating items that are whimsical and that will make you smile. Oh, and the struggle with giving up on "my call"...well, that guilt was solved when a lady at a craft show walked up to me and THANKED me for the witness I was being by offering so many spiritually-based items for sale. She told me that I was able to witness to people that might never be reached simply by displaying my FAITH through my creations...WOW...It was an answer to prayer. NOW, I continue to follow my dreams and to develop my skills as I try to follow the path that lies before me...I am so blessed and happy to share my gifts with YOU!
