About RomanyRapture

On Etsy since 2011

Step on in and let me dress you in lavish fun of dreams and history re-made.

She walks loose limbed and graceful. Dressed in jeans, a simple blouse, hair tossed by a breeze. Her hand lifts to brush the strands back from across her face. Suddenly she is dressed quite differently. I see her still, but now she is wearing layers of fabric and lace, with buckles and ribbons. A dress, born of my imagination and her unconscious movements.

This is my inspiration. Movement. There it is. Most of my design inspiration comes from the simple movements of ordinary people. The beautiful dance of a life in motion. My desire, my wish, is to clothe you for those moments where memories are made. I want to be here for anyone whose story includes dress up and to cover you in lush and fanciful garments.

My seduction by fabric goes way back to childhood. There was something secret and otherworldly about the business of sewing. I thought so as a child watching my Mom sew. It seemed like magic. It still does, but now I know.
Now I am the "magician".
All the steps from inspiration to final stitch, they come from my hands and my heart.
I've had a few instructors but the most inspiring is that lady I call Mom, a seamstress who is exacting, imaginative and fearless. You're still my inspiration Mom! Thank You!

I love it all, custom work, setting up shoots and taking the photos, hours looking for the right lace, sifting through buttons, meeting clients, conversations with clients. Did I mention fabric?

I am a mad and merry seamstress who loves the touch and manipulation of fabric. My process; designing, sewing, and the final photographing of a garment has been a life long journey of love and learning. I create my joy and want to share it!

I will begin any custom order on a first come basis.
At this time it is averaging 2-3 weeks for most jackets.
These are highly detailed items of clothing and I am
the sole designer and maker. I will work as quickly as I can though.
I do have pets, and although they are not allowed into my shop,
sometimes hair will travel with me.
I endeavor to clear any stray hairs as well as fabric fibers before sending anything off, but I felt I should alert those who are highly allergic.
