About RonePrinz

On Etsy since 2009

“It’s exciting to see what wants to escape from my hands and form itself into something that is actually wearable.”

I started making jewelry during a Japanese papermaking class in 1986. I tore a piece off one of my sculptures & turned it into a pair of earrings. I saw a universe of beauty in this tiny little fragment that day.

I am moving in a whimsical narrative direction at the moment. Birds and Bees and ShadowBox Portraits mixed in with abstract HollowForms which I call my Industrial Zen work. Also, my new Rockyology series is a result from my walks on the beach and a life long obsession with beachcombing. My explorations in metal have led to an interest in jewelry as small sculpture.

I am compelled to create, to explore shape, texture, materials, technique, the list is endless. Where I begin depends on my mood, my thoughts and what I have in my studio at the time. Or if I have been let out to travel to a distant place whether it's to the market or to drive across the country for an Art Show. It's all about that very moment when my hands decide to let out what has been brewing in my mind!! Then the alchemy begins. It's nice being at the age where I'm not afraid to make mistakes or do it wrong. Because there is no wrong way it's all right. It's all inside me waiting to be let out.
