I started making these necklaces because I knew I wanted to not only showcase their beauty, but bring out the wearers unique, raw & wild inner beauty that the stones reflect.

The first stone I fell in love with was turquoise. I'm the type of person who likes to do a lot of research on something I find interesting. I love a good backstory. As I began researching the stone's compelling history, I came to know more about the healing properties of gemstones (crystals). The history goes back thousands of years, back to our roots. One of my favorite music styles is roots rock reggae & I have a resource blog for parents: RootsMamas.blogspot.com. So the name ROOTS ROCKS just fit.

Then my favorite book series of all time came to mind: Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" series (go read them!). Gemstones & standing stones are a big part of the books, what better way to combine two of my loves, than to intertwine them into necklaces! Hence the tagline: "Come through the Stones". If you've read the series, you'll know that certain people are transported back in time through the standing stones.

The background pattern you see behind the logo also has personal significance. It is a basket weave design pattern of the Pomo people who are native to my home: Northern California. I infuse my work with the things I love & that have significance to me. Each stone is picked carefully, each name I give to the necklaces has meaning, each one is handmade with love- from me & Mama earth!
