About

Rosebud's Lampwork Beads

A year after learning to make lampwork beads, I began to sell them. Even with the economic downturns, my beads sold, slowly, but they sold!!!

Working with glass is challenging. When you work with a torch that heats the glass to 1200 degrees, you have to be alert and ready to move. Heat control is so important when making lampwork glass beads.

If I were to define my style, it would be eclectic. I see my beads as being funky, fun, and affordable.

I've begun to learn the art of polymer clay. One of my goals is to make people aware that polymer clay is not just a way of keeping the kids busy. It's a medium that has become a means of artistic expression. I still have a lot to learn about this medium.

I'm very involved with Beads of Courage. Beads of Courage is an organization that helps children who are ill. Through beads, the children are able to tell the stories of their illnesses and courage as they go through their treatments. I was honored this year, to be an inductee into the Beads of Courage Hall of Fame.

I am absolutely passionate about making lampwork glass beads!!! I began my journey with glass beads as a result of a class I took 7 years ago. Now, a day is not really a day unless I have made at least one glass bead.
