Announcement   Thank you for coming by to have a look at my hand dyed yarn and handmade project bags. I hope you will see something you like. I ship world wide.

12 Feb 2017: I have new skeins of OZ sock in stock. These are not the 112 g skeins I had previously, however even though listed as 100 g skeins all of them are at least 104 g and up to 114g. I am happy to weigh a skein for you if you would like the detailed information.

I am very happy to do custom orders. Most of the colourways in the sold section I am able to dye up again. I can also dye up new colourways based on what you would like.

I sometimes show my dyeing experiments on my knitting podcast, http://www.rosehipknitspodcast.blogspot.com , please come and have a look if you are interested.

Playing with colours and dyeing yarn is the perfect mix of science, creativity, mess and fun for me. I love it! All yarn is hand dyed by me in small batches. I source the majority of my yarn bases from Australian and New Zealand mills. At the very least my bases come from Australian suppliers.

Shipping yarn: Flat rate shipping of $8.50 AUD for all Australian orders. I ship world wide. Regional flat rate shipping for international orders for up to 4 skeins. Please contact me for a quote if your country is not listed or if you would like to order 5 skeins or more.

If you have any questions just send me a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

/Hanna

About

Taking the leap and starting up shop

I am doing it! I have been dyeing yarn for myself and friends for over five years and I finally decided to open this online shop to sell my hand dyed yarn. I love dyeing yarn and fibre and I do not want to stop because I am running out of space!

I have started to sell my handmade project bags. Each one of them is truly one of a kind and made with much love and attention.

I fill my days with parenting, a professional science career, bookkeeping, podcasting, knitting, spinning, crafting, swimming and enjoying the outdoors. Playing with colours and dyeing yarn is the perfect mix of science, creativity, mess and fun for me. I love wool and all the things you can create with this beautiful material.

With a background in Environmental Science I am conscious about the resources/materials I use and the potential impacts on the environment. I aim to make my dyeing process as efficient as possible to reduce any waste. I also source my bases and materials as locally as possible.

Thank you for coming by to have a look at my work.

I am a Swede living in Tasmania, Australia, with my husband and two little girls. I love dyeing yarn. It is fun and it involves a little bit of science and a lot of creativity. A perfect mix for me.

Please contact me for a quote if your country is not listed or if you would like to order 5 skeins or more. ***Update 22 April 2016: Australia Post has increased international parcel postage and therefor I have had to change my shipping and handling cost. I charge what Australia Post does plus a few cents for packing material.***

Shipping project bags: Bags are sent flat in envelopes where possible. Shipping is $3 AUD for Australian orders. International shipping will be calculated at check out. If your country is not listed please notify me and I will set it up.

Combined yarn/bag shipping: Etsy will calculate the combined postage by charging only for the yarn postage and include the bag shipping for free. Please let me know if you find mistakes with the calculated postage.

Customers are responsible for any import taxes or charges that apply in their country. Customs documentation will accurately list parcel contents and value.

All parcels are sent via Australia Post without tracking or insurance. Please get in touch if you would like to have your parcel tracked and/or insured.

Additional policies and FAQs
This is hand dyed yarn and so pooling and flashing may occur. It is always recommended to alternate skeins for garments when using hand dyed yarns.
Colours may appear differently on your screen. Please read the colour description carefully. I do repeat some colourways but it is in the nature of hand dyeing in small batches that even with the same methods and dye amounts, skeins can vary quite a bit from batch to batch and even within a batch.

Any knots or splices that I have detected will be mentioned in the listing. I endeavour to not offer items for sale with knots or splices, but the absence of these cannot be guaranteed.

All yarn is dyed with professional grade acid dyes. I recommend that hand dyed yarns are hand washed in cold to luke warm water with an appropriate wool wash. In my years of dyeing yarn for myself I have not had any problems with dye run-off, but to be safe I recommend that you wash your item separately the first couple of times. Dry flat in shade.

I do not re-skein. If I do it will be noted in the description.

I work in a smoke-free and pet free environment.

With a background in Environmental Science I am conscious about the resources/materials I use and the potential impacts on the environment. I aim to make my dyeing process as efficient as possible to reduce any waste. I also source my bases and materials as locally as possible.
