Announcement   These are original artwork created by Elaine and Guiteau Lanoue of Houston, TX. Elaine creates colorful impressionistic outsider art in bright colors and Guiteau creates highly textured abstract cubism collages.

My full biography and show schedule appears on www.contemporarypictures.com I don't sell on this site but it gives you an idea of some larger artwork we have sold.

Elaine Rose Lanoue

Elaine Rose Lanoue is a contemporary acrylic semi-representational and abstract painter who works together with her husband Guiteau Lanoue in their studio in Houston, TX. Her love of diverse ethnicities and colorful landscapes of her mind inspire her to paint highly textured and colorful canvasses which she calls “happy” paintings. She gives God all of the glory for her gifts for she believes “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” She hopes her artwork will bring joy and peace to those that view it.

Many of Elaine's artwork have been purchased by well known corporations and placed in permanent collections all over the world.

Her work has been purchased for inclusion in the Marietta Museum of Art & Whimsy in Sarasota FL. She has been featured in 1984 Notable Women of Texas, 2008-09 Who's Who in America, in the 1990's Who’s Who of American Women and Who’s Who in Interior Design under her previous painting name of Elaine Rose. She is also featured in the 2009 edition of Who's Who in America. She exhibited at the International Art Expo in New York City at Jacob Javits during the years of 1984 through 1992. Other awards and honors have been listed on her website

Guiteau Lanoue

Guiteau Lanoue, a native of Port au Prince, Haiti, creates beautifully textured, structured and geometric mixed media handcast paper collages. Guiteau makes his paper from 100% cotton linters; then he scores, folds, and glues his unique patterns on a base of museum paper African geometric symbols frequently appear in his collage paintings as well as non-specific calligraphic designs. Cubism and the influence of Picasso are evident in his layered collages. He has collectors all around the world from his exhibits at International ArtExpo in New York City as well as purchases at fine juried art events in the U.S.

Guiteau gives God “all the glory and thanksgiving” for the gift He gives him and the ability to share this gift with others. One favorite verse is”Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.”

Awards are listed on our website.

Am I sounding like a broken record yet? These are all fantastic pieces and they really brighten a room.
