5 out of 5 starsLove, love, love this fat quarter bundle! Colors are true to the photos, fabric is a good quality and my order arrived faster than expected. The shop owner even added a little travel sewing kit and an extra fat quarter of that beautiful rose print. Can't wait to sew up some Valentine pillows and heart sachets.

Frequently asked questions
Environmentally Friendly?
Yes! I use the terms reclaimed or upcycled to describe most of the fabrics that I work with. They are seconhand fabrics that I find at estate sales, thrift shops and online auctions. By purchasing second hand fabrics I am keeping them out of landfills and giving them new life. Using vintage fabrics also means there is less demand for new fabrics to be manufactured. You will also find vintage supplies like sewing notions, craft kits and fabric in my shop, further reducing waste by rehoming the fine goods.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
Are the vintage fabrics you work with clean?
Yes! I take great pride in making sure the vintage fabrics I work with are as like new as possible. My preperation procsss frequentlly includes soaking them for up to two days with a product called Retro Clean. It gently strips them of any fragrance or fabric softener that might have buit up on them over the years. After that they get washed in a hot water cycle with fragrance free hypoallergenic detergent, and then an extra hot water rinse.
Where can I find your work?
In addition to this website, www.PettijohnTextiles.com, my work can be found here at Etsy, and at craft shows in the Memphis area.
What kind of sewing machine do you use?
Okay, I love this question. I sew on a vintage Singer Slant- O-Matic 401a sewing machine. It was made in 1957, and was gifted to me by my husbands Grandma. I love being able to work with this piece of history.
Care and Cleaning
Blankets, pillows, quilts and burp cloths can all be machine washed in warm water with a mild detergent and then tumble dried. Snuggle often.
Zipper pouches and bags should be spot cleaned.
