This is my third order from Roses in Thyme and I am just as thrilled with this necklace as I am the first two. These smell incredible, but they are also beautiful! I've never seen a product like these anywhere else and I love that when I wear my necklaces, I am truly wearing a piece of art. I am sure this will not be my last purchase!

Oh my goodness, what else can I say except that I love this? Thank you so very much for customizing the necklace and for sending it out so quickly. This is the second necklace I've ordered from you and I will definitely shop with you again!

This necklace is really pretty and it smells wonderful. It came packed in a little tin with patchouli-soaked cotton pads to help the beads retain their smell. The necklace is the perfect length and the clasp is really tight - the necklace isn't going to fall off my neck. Thanks so much for making a really unique piece that I can wear for years!

Roses in Thyme

Thirty years ago as a community gardener in Philadelphia, I read an old recipe for making beads from rose petals. It started "Take a bushel basket of fragrant rose petals." "Sure," I thought, "Who has a bushel basket of rose petals?"

Now my husband and I have a rose nursery in S. Schuylkill Co. where we grow over 200 varieties of heirloom roses. We do indeed have bushels and bushels of fragrant rose petals, which I've made into hundreds of rose beads over the years.

As a young herb gardener eager to learn all I could I came across an obscure reference to beads made from ground herbs, but no recipe seemed to exist. Though the years I've experimented and worked out recipes to make lasting, fragrant beads from lavender, patchouli and other herbs. I've sold rose and herb bead jewelry at shows and fairs in Pa for the last 15 years. My opened yet unfilled shop sat for 3 years and I'm pleased to finally really join Etsy and explore the on line community.

I have spent the last 35 years growing and crafting with herbs and old roses. With my husband and daughter, I moved to Schuylkill Co PA 22 years ago where we live on a 13 acre log cabin homestead with hundreds of old roses and gardens of herbs.
