Announcement    My desire to work in a green job has be fulfilled with the creation of Rough Green Edges! My love of vintage linens and quality fabrics has resulted in many unique custom clothing pieces- excellent costumes and festival wear for the whole family.

Rough Green Edges is affordable eco fashion made possible through recycling, reusing and reviving quality, but outdated, materials rather than allowing them to be relegated to landfills. I thank you for supporting me in my efforts to make a living with the least impact on our environment.

For environmentally conscientious buyers who value living with a low carbon footprint my giving new life to pre-loved materials offers an avenue to merge needs, beliefs and purchasing power.

For others Rough Green Edges is a great source of unique clothing, costume and festival garb at the affordable prices that the use of re-purposed fabrics makes possible.

Rough Green Edges mobile shop can be found in the Pacific Northwest at diverse events - Art, Celtic,Renaissance and Fantasy fairs, Highland Games, holiday bazaars and markets. That is where buyers can see my entire current inventory which changes constantly.

My Etsy shop has evolved into the place I have listed the items that can be custom ordered and where people that have personally seen and been enchanted with my creations can contact me.

Taking pictures of the little girls Medieval Outfits at my local park prompted one observer to ask if I was taking promo pictures or just playing with my dolls! I guess it might have looked a bit oddrolling_on_the_floor_laughing

Filling a Gap

Rough Green Edges was born in 2010 out of my daughter-in-law's dissatisfaction with the types and colors of baby clothes available in stores. From a favorite tee shirt we crafted the first trendy colored infant tee dress with a black silk screened silhouette in one lower corner - not your usual baby attire - which became the foundation design for RGE.

The abundance of great quality fabric's available at rummage/garage/estate sales and thrift stores is mind boggling! Using these fabrics allows me to make boutique quality alternative fashions affordable and be part of the growing earth conscious economy.

Within a year Rough Green Edges inventory of one-of-a-kind baby clothes expanded to include items for kids up to 12 years old. The transition to adult refashions began during the 2012 Christmas season!

Rough Green Edges first sales were made at Klamath Falls Farmers Market in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Since then RGE has attended markets throughout Oregon and Northern California. In December 2013 I decided to try Etsy and within two weeks I had my first Etsy sale and became an international seller!

Until 2018 I continued to attend markets and fairs within a 400 mile radius of Klamath Falls as well as offer my designs on Etsy. During 2018 my husband and I sold our house in Klamath Falls, Oregon and moved 250 miles Northwest to little town of Woodburn, Oregon in the Willamette Valley- which is a 30 minute drive to the metro area of Portland, Oregon - the states only big city.

Rough Green Edges has evolved from a converted guest bedroom to re-purposed backyard shed to a workshop/showroom in Klamath Falls and an Etsy shop and now to a custom built workroom in my new home. Sale locations have expanded from a pop-up store at a local farmers market (Klamath Falls Farmers Market is one of the best ones in the state of Oregon) to include Renaissance Faires, Highland Games and guest spots in Portland art collectives and galleries!

Today I am the artisan and business manager of 9 year old Rough Green Edges! I still love creating unique fashions and taking them to local events and venues. Personally seeing the joy of customers when they find the RGE garment that speaks to their heart is extremely rewarding! Conversations with customers often inspire me to create new and different fashions and recycled/up-cycled accessories.

As 2020 approaches my focus will be on building up a more robust Etsy presence. I appreciate all my customers and returning patrons! I hope they will transition to buying online!
