Several years ago, I ordered a few Block printed letters to frame individually. They were initials representing family members, and I needed a new one when we decided to have another baby! Even though they are no longer listed individually, Kacie made me a custom order. Such great customer service and super fast shipping!

Awesome. Super organized and Emily loved the book. We have started looking for other books as we are going to send you some to create more journals in the future. Thanks for everything.

Live creatively. Shop creatively.

In 2007 I bought a few old hardcover books from a stoop sale. When I saw them, I knew I wanted to make them into sketchbooks for myself and my friends. I had never done any bookbinding, but I found a tutorial online and taught myself, along with developing a method for gutting the pages and finishing the journals cleanly. I ended up selling my first journals at a little vintage shop owned by the same woman who originally sold me the books! They sold very well, so I opened up shop (an Etsy shop, that is) and started selling them myself. Since then I've made and sold journals, ornaments, stationery sets, and jewelry at a few stores and several indie craft shows.

I'm just a girl looking to live a creative life, laugh a lot, be inspired, and inspire others. I've always loved working with my hands and making useful things. I am constantly inspired by places and things around me, and by the amazing people I am fortunate to have in my life.

Thanks for stopping by! The Roundabout Shop (formerly known as Heirloom Journals) is my collection of handmade goods that started with just journals, and has expanded to include ornaments, jewelry, and other fun stuff.

Most items are made using some sort of vintage or re-purposed materials including books, wallpaper, fabric, and jewelry findings.

I aim to create in a way that is environmentally responsible and affordable. All items are made in a smoke-free house!

Additional policies and FAQs
FAQ: If I have a book I would like to be made into a journal, can I send it to you?

Answer: Yes! I do have some size limitations, so convo me with measurements first. Or, even better, send a photo too.
