My name is Robert T LaColla. I am an artist and an educator. With a background both in teaching (mathematics, mostly) and art (painting, mostly), I'm not attempting to do both! I live and work in the Hudson Valley after seven years of teaching in a public secondary school in Brooklyn, New York.

My Vision
My line of thought when creating art surrounds seeking out what humans do to find happiness. I explore (and critically question) these findings in my art and I try to teach my students to do the same (even in the field of math!).
I believe that every person deserves to live richly and happily, empowered and respected. We all deserve a life enriched with educational opportunities and elevated by encounters with beauty and creative thought.

Selling Statement
When selling my art, I aim to provide affordable, excellent artwork without sacrificing the uniqueness of each piece. Each original painting is for sale along with a maximum of 25 high-quality prints of each work. The low cost and sale of the prints allows the price of each original to remain affordable.

Shipping Statement
I attempt to ship using as light a footprint on the planet as possible. I use recycled materials and prefer ground shipment over air. Additionally, each reproduction is printed on 100% bamboo paper. Among other positives, bamboo renews itself quicker than wood.

Thank you for your interest! I'm always interested in starting a discussion so please feel free to email me your thoughts.
