Hello and thanks for visiting us here on Etsy!

Handcrafted with equal measures of whimsy and passion, our RUSTIC ARTISTIC furniture, lamps, design accessories and sculptures are all hand made in our Lincolnshire home and studio, by husband and wife team comprised of craftsman Joe Caneen and sculptor Laury Dizengremel. Paintings of animals are by our friend, fellow artist Yaxi Zhang, so this is a collaborative shop.

All of our work is eco-friendly.

To make sculptures, Laury uses clay or willow. To make some of our handmade rustic, artistic items, we recycle glass bottles and aluminum / steel cans (see a number of our lamps and night lights), and we use dead-standing wood such as worm-killed lodgepole or juniper or larch pine and fast-renewing / sustainable green woods such as willow and osier to make lamps, furniture and various home accessories. Yaxi uses high quality archival paper to make her original paintings.

Besides using recycled materials, we love working with natural, rustic materials of all sorts: wood, osier/dogwood, jute, feathers, river rocks, lava rock and so on.

Joe's background as a videographer led him to turn his artistic hand to making useful, beautiful things. Laury is an award-winning sculptor whose work you can see at and, and in many private, corporate, public and museum collections around the world. She was the creator of the Tennis Terracotta Warrior series (larger than lifesize sculptures of Federer, Nadal, Djokovich and five other top tennis players in 2007), and has numerous sculptures in public places in England, France, China, Vietnam, Honduras, South Korea, Canada and the USA.

Regarding his philosophy for lamp designing Joe says : "It all starts with some special found item or wood or rock - for example ancient lava rock, thousands of years old... I look for a unique piece, that has a natural 'seating' of its own; then I find a very individual piece of wood that suits that unique piece of rock, either a branch or a root, which harmoniously integrates with the rock, which either seems to anchor it or spring or grow from it - and the result is not just a lamp, but a sculpture of earth elements: rock and wood combining together in a completely elemental fashion. Then Laury dresses up a lampshade with jute and plants and other natural features, and you get a totally one-of-a-kind art piece lamp!"

IMPORTANT NOTE: with regards our "nature lampshades" or "nature wall hangings" or anything else we make with twigs/dry plants and feathers - please note that a certain amount of "fallout" is expected, both when you unpack your lampshade and later on, as it "ages". We recommend you look upon our lampshades as something to contribute to and keep adding to... so, do save and dry any flowers or small twigs or cuttings(from cut or standing flowers or plants, inside or outside the house) or use any other little accents which you have feel would be suitable to add to your lampshade!!!

Also....with all our lava rock lamps, there is NO soft pad/cushioning on the bottom to avoid ruining the look, so we recommend you place your rock on a runner/tablecloth or other padding to protect your furniture from being scratched.

We welcome enquiries for CUSTOM "anything" to be made from WOOD, TWIG DOGWOOD/OSIER.... (from garden gates to bookshelves and from rustic tables to displays).
