Embark on a creative adventure and sew along with me via one of my sewing patterns & tutorials. I take you step by step through the process making it easy to follow along and deceptively easy to create your chosen project...give it a try and I know you can create something special!

All of my sewing patterns are hand designed by me, Rena, and are a "Rustic Horseshoe Original Design". Check out my newest pattern, the Hefty Hippo Pudgy Plushie Soft Toy Sewing Pattern and Tutorial!

I no longer make completed items for sale, however, sometimes I do sell the items I make during the creation process of each pattern. I usually sell this via my Facebook page at a discounted price since they are my prototypes...they sell fast...so keep an eye on my FB page. In riding a horse, we borrow freedom ~Helen Thompson

Rustic Horseshoe was born in 2009 when I was searching for work I could do from home in order to be at home with my infant daughter. I had fully intended on being a career woman in my chosen profession of Law Enforcement...but that desire unexpectedly changed after I became a mommy. It wasn't until my son came along in 2011 that I took the leap of faith, left my career behind and made designing and creating my new career. I am so grateful I am still on this venture, continually improving my talents and designs...and eventually getting to my list of new ones I want to create. I wouldn't be here without God's blessings, the support of my family and the support of every single customer!!

I hand create all of my original patterns with a good old fashioned pencil, eraser and paper. Stick horses, plush horses and such have been around for hundreds of years...I hope you enjoy my version of them. My first design was my Classic Stick Horse in the summer of 2009, it has seen many improvements over the years. I keep the very first one I made in my studio as a reminder of where I began and how far I've come.

By following my tutorials and tips, you can easily create treasured heirlooms and keepsakes to be thoroughly enjoyed and loved by the child who first calls it his to be passed onto future generations to love. They are "Tough Enough to Play and Nice Enough to Display" (TM). I still have my childhood stick horse, she was a little overworked and isn't in any condition to be passed onto my children to play with, but she is certainly a treasured reminder of the joys in my childhood and she is reflected in my Classic Stick Horse design. I took her shortcomings for enduring my childhood and incorporated techniques in my own design to prevent or minimize them in order to create a more durable and lasting heirloom quality toy.

I have been around horses my entire life. We always had at least a few at any given time during my childhood. I rode them every chance I could and my dad would use them to drive his carriages, buggies, wagons and carts. Many of my childhood memories are centered around these beautiful beasts. My husband and I currently have two horses, a Quarter Horse and a Thoroughbred whom we adore...and its hard to admit those boys are climbing up in age. I also used both of my boys in the Mounted Unit for the Sedona Police Department during my tenure as a Mounted Patrol Officer. You will see my love for horses and the western lifestyle in many of my designs...but, I simply love animals in general and have a lot of fun designing a variety of them.

I love new challenges and I love hearing from my customers!
