Excellent product. Ruth went out of her way to accommodate my needs. This book was the best gift I could ever get for my very demanding aunt! Thank you again!

Updates

Just added a bunch of beautiful lay-flat handmade journals to my shop - all with one of a kind covers from paper I dyed or printed myself!

Remember the hand-dyed paper I made in my last shop update? I put it to good use in this one of a kind journal!
I may have had zombie hands for a few days but it was totally worth it to make this awesome dyed paper that I later used for a one of a kind journal cover!

About

Ruth Bleakley's handmade books help you preserve your memories and breathe new life into the ancient art of bookbinding.

My name is Ruth and I'm a bookbinder and stationery designer. Working from my sunny Florida home studio I create all of my work with my own hands - the book covers are hand cut, the pages hand folded and the books are sewn together with my own two hands! I enjoy breathing life into an ancient craft (going back thousands of years!) and putting my own colorful, whimsical spin on it.

My favorite material to create things with is paper of all types, including handmade Japanese papers, unusual maps and colorful vintage papers. Some people spend too much on restaurants, others on clothing, I spend far too much on acquiring the most massive stash of decorative papers possible. I'm glad that the art of bookbinding allows me to showcase and share my favorites with you!

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Shipping
I pack and ship my orders within one to two days of my receiving payment.

Insurance is included in the shipping of every order over $40 and rest assured I carefully pack each item so that it will survive being dropped, kicked and rained on (sometimes I don't know what my mail has gone through to get here).

To keep costs down I ship first class on smaller books and Media Mail on larger heavier books. Media Mail can take anywhere from 5-9 days to arrive, so if you would like your item sooner, contact me and I can get a quote for priority mail.

International buyers are welcome - I've had some problems with extremely slow mail when shipping first class, which is why I've been using International Priority mail. If you don't have a deadline for when you want your package to arrive, I'll be happy to reduce the shipping to the cost of first class mail, but be aware it could take up to six weeks for your item to arrive.
Refunds and Exchanges
I'm willing to accept returns provided they are in the same condition that they arrived to you in, buyer pays for shipping back to me. Refund will be via money order or Pay Pal. Please contact me first if you intend to return something.
