Award-winning wood carver for over 45 years
Hello, my name is Bob. I am 69 years old and have been wood carving since I was a teenager. I’ve been married to the same wonderful bride, Pat, for 43 years. I have one daughter, Christina, one grandson, AJ, and one granddaughter, Priya. My family is my life! Obviously, I enjoy wood carving but I also love fishing…especially fly fishing! My house is now filled with wood carvings which is why I opened my Etsy shop. There is no place else to put any more wood carvings in my house so I either give them away or sell them.
I started my professional career in 1973 as a research chemist while still finishing college. I soon became the lab manager and worked there for 15 years. I was then offered a job with a large chemical distributor to be their operations manager. Through that job I became introduced to environmental science. After 8 years there I decided to go into the field of environmental consulting. I worked for several different consulting firms before health issues forced me into early disability retirement at the age of 60. Fully retired now, I spend all of my time wood carving, running my Etsy shop and babysitting my grandchildren. Although I really love wood carving, babysitting is the best job I ever had! The pay stinks but the benefits are awesome!
