While scanning Polaroids I'm transported to the summer memories attached to them. My old film works best in warm weather, so that's when I shoot it most.
I do small artworks like mini Polaroids seen here in my shop, and stickers. So cool to see one of the latter in my neighborhood the other day!

About

sMac'd in the Soul

I am a bit of an old soul and am inspired by anything old. My home is filled with antiques, old family photographs, and toys from the 30's and 40's or earlier. I prefer things with a patina, signs of age, and history. This is probably why I love my city, and the part of it where I live, and why I prefer to use old cameras and film for my photography.

I founded sMacVision in 2004, originally only to sell my handmade greeting cards, which had become popular. The photo and illustration prints came next, followed by the jewelry.
I take all the photos you see in my shop. Nothing derives from stock photo, and nothing is enhanced with downloaded or bought textures, nor by canned photo effects and apps. I have the original polaroids and negatives to back up all the film photography in my shop, and one third of my refrigerator is filled with my valuable (mostly expired) film stores.I also scan all my own negatives and Polaroids, and handle all my prints one at a time on my Epson Professional Stylus Pro 3880 printer.

You can find my work in a variety of publications both in the US and abroad, including the Annual IPA Book, Photographer’s Forum’s Best of Photography Annual, a variety of other books, as well as magazines like Camera Arts Magazine, Gotham, and Color Magazine. It has inspired a famous designer's jewelry line, been used on album covers, been featured in galleries here in the U.S. as well as in Europe, and is held in private collections across four continents.

It should also be mentioned that I often walk the streets of my neighborhood at night with my cameras; so if you would happen upon me and ask me if I’m holding, I will assume you mean candy. And the answer will probably be “yes”.

Welcome and thank you to all who enter the sMacshop! I hope my art will "smack" you right in the soul, and will do my best to make your experience a happy one. Please take a look around and feel free to ask me any questions or make any comments on what you see. I promise to get back to you as quickly as possible.

Accepted payment methods

  • Other Method
Payment
I accept PayPal, where you can pay with a linked bank account or credit card, and Canadian or US Postal (only) Money Order (for MO, just let me know as it doesn't show as a payment option); items will ship once payment clears.
Shipping
I will normally ship within 2-3 days after an order is paid for, providing payment has cleared.

I will be shipping First Class Mail domestically and internationally when I'm able, to reduce costs to you.

International customers are responsible for all fees associated with shipping to their respective countries. Orders that are shipped to countries outside of the United States may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country. The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by the recipient; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates. All international orders will have full value declared on customs forms - no exceptions.
Refunds and Exchanges
Should there be any problem with your order, allow me to fix it if possible, before you leave feedback; I want you to be happy!

Convo me right away if you you need to return an item and I will gladly accept it and refund you the cost of the item less shipping. The only exception would be in the case of custom orders which require me to employ a third party printer (custom order) since I would not be able to recoup the cost I paid them for the services.

In the unlikely event that your item never arrives (ie; gets lost in the mail) please contact me. I've never had an item permanently lost in the mail, and I've only had a temporarily lost item happen once. Just keep me posted with any concern if you have not received your package.
Additional policies and FAQs
The sMacshop is very convo friendly and won't scare you away despite anything you might have seen in my shop which may have led you to believe otherwise. ;) Send me a message with any questions not covered here or in my shop.
