About

Fill your life with pretty!

Although I have been crafting all my life, it was in 2008 that I really became a serious crafter.

That was the year that my oldest daughter was diagnosed with Juvenile Dermatomyositis. This rare autoimmune disorder attacked her muscles, leaving her weak and helpless.

For 3 years straight, taking care of her consumed my every waking hour. Making temari balls provided a brief sense of accomplishment through those trying times.

As her condition has improved, I have been working on other crafts such as kanzashi, crochet and sewing.

Today my daughters participate in my Etsy store and are learning to craft themselves.

Crafting has been a therapy for me in dealing with the illness of my daughter. I love temari, kanzashi, crochet and sewing! I love to create and to be inspired. My motto is "may life be filled with pretty!"

Hand crafting Temari balls is a spiritual and healing practice. Seeing the colors and patterns emerge provides a calming and satisfying effect for me. The practice has helped me to deal with the devastating illness of my oldest daughter. It is for her that I have begun to sell the items I have created.
