Announcement   Welcome to my Etsy shop! I love hunting for vintage patterns at estate sales and antique shops. I just lucked into more than 20 very lovely vintage Vogue patterns -- one gem is from the 1930s -- so keep checking back to see them when I get those listed.

Let me know if there's something in particular that you're looking for -- I'd love to find just the right thing for you!

A note about sizing:
Most of my patterns are one-of-a-kind, and vintage sewing patterns generally just come in one size (often on the small side, by modern standards; it's common to find dress patterns drafted for a 32-inch bust measurement). If you love a pattern, don't let it go to someone else! You might never see it available again anywhere.

With a little work, you will be able to resize a vintage pattern to fit you, even if it's far from your original size. Here are a couple of my favorite internet resources for pattern resizing instructions:

* Sense and Sensibility patterns has a great pictorial explanation here: http://www.sensibility.com/pattern/resizepattern.htm

* Threads magazine just ran a piece on pattern resizing using the "seam method": http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/5053/the-seam-method-of-pattern-alteration

I hope these help, and I hope you like my patterns!

I'm a sewing pattern junkie with an eye for vintage style and way too many sewing patterns to make all myself. I sell books on eBay and Amazon as well (as marywithbooks) so you can check me out there if you'd like.
